SA22C-579233 1979 Chassis w/ stock 12A engine. Purchased as an SCCA Improved Touring A, Improved Touring 7 race car. Car was actively campaigned in the East Coast under SARRC. Last raced in 2013. Currently being refreshed for use in the Midwest. Car is plated and licensed for the street.

Are you sure this isn't Royal Maroon? Mazda made a special version of the GSL-SE with colored side mirrors with a special color of Royal Maroon. The tag on the passenger side firewall will have the color code. It will be 3A

Hello all. I've been meaning to add my car to this. I have chassis # SA22C516446 in North Dakota. Stretched her legs today and yesterday trying to reproduce some problems i have been having. Instead chose to run great.
SA22C520151 is officially mine as of a couple weeks ago. 9/78 production date. Bought it as a clean, rust-free shell to do a "re-body" for my '80 (SA22C628089) which has been overcome with body-rot. Working on interior now, drivetrain swap to follow soon (hopefully). Original silver car, was repainted at one point after a minor accident, plan to keep it that way when I do a repaint.

My previous registry must have been lost through some update over the years. I'm the proud owner of a 1985 Sparkling Black GSL-SE, (VIN# JM1FB3320F0888258) purchased from the original owner in Ventura, CA, in 1994.
I’ve owned a 1979 Sunrise Red GS SA22C-548023 for about six years now. Apparently the first owner was David Zubec who ran a racing school of RX-7’s at Race City in Calgary Canada and in Phoenix??? I mention this as a long shot if someone knows Dave or the car.
and she's still red. And she just got pulled out of storage after school and starting a family. Had to put it up because I could convince the wife it was a family car even with the back seat I found for it.

Edit: according to the first gen paint color thread Y6 or indie maroon is a Japan only color stock on my American 80. So is it just a screw up on Mazda or am I missing something?

Ok just picked up a 79 parts car for $150 turns out it's a limited Not really a clear vin But there is always another spot to find it

I have VIN# SA22C 532598 in my possession in north Texas.
She is 100% stock and original with 29,000 miles on it! Never molested or modified. A true barn find. interior is immaculate, but some paint issues from eventually being left out in the elements. Still had the original Mazda air filter and original spare tire in her. She runs and drives like new!
Happy to have her accounted for and added to the registry.
None of which would have been possible without these forums.
