GA Rear spoiler...black or body color?

Ok, debating on my car that I am getting ready to paint whether to paint the rear spoiler back Black, as it has been since I installed it in 1985ish, or go back body color....one day I like it black, and the next day i think body color and I simply cant decide.....so lookin for input to help me make the decision one way or the other,,,,,thanks!

I vote for body color, paint the mirrors and lose the louvers.

Black. The contrast of the black mirrors and black side strips are iconic features of the FB. Keeping the tail black will emphasize that theme.

I'm still not sure about the louvers, I'm not crazy about the look but I sure like the way they've protected your rear hatch area from the sun over the years.

Thats my thinking for black too, it just sets off the tail. I actually found a picture of and LE with a body color rear spoiler last night, and i dont know if i like it or not. Guess i am just used to black. Louvers will more than likely stay, assuming i can get paint to stick to them. They were on the car when i first got it, and they definately have saved the rear interior, both carpet and plastic back there are excellent. Plus they are original Mazda louvers from what i can tell....

if you did body color, it would be very easy later to do black...

Hey Robert, show a pic of the back of your car with body color wing.

His car at least make you think about doing it body color.

In my view the black spoiler says " Hey, I added this spoiler but didnt take the time to paint it".

On the other hand if you keep the louvers, I would leave them black, they should be dark like the glass is.

(following this one as I pose the same question to myself, color matched would look finished but black in my case would match the vinyl top and tinted rear windows hmmmm)

Nope. I voted for Black, and that's my final answer. Spraying everything so it looks like a '90's car is a big mistake.
