Racing beat full exhuast system sound?

Searched and could only find sketchy youtube vids so I was looking to buy the full system and was wondering how much louder it is than stock/ what the tone change is?

the system i have is the street port system. has dual pipes up to the muffler. engine is ported and it was still pretty quiet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SQtwyL8cPc

I have since removed the two presilencers cause i wanted it a little louder. i don't have a vid from outside of the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ut6fL8mQanM

been a while since posting those but i can get a newer one if u need.

If you have the money go with the street port system. It's nice and quiet while idling and cruising but when you punch it it howls. Nice and throaty, no tinny sound at all. I think I may regret selling my center and muffler to upgrade. There's a clip of me revving mine a bit on YouTube. Search racing beat Streetport exhaust. Should come up.

+1 Get the SP version as its really much better than an early collected version.

lighter weight flywheel allows the engine to spin up faster.

Street port system is quiet like stock. I can't even hear the exhaust note when driving down the highway.

Didn't seem to lose any power over the much louder exhaust system I had been running. Idles the same, too, which is the main giveaway for exhaust flow on a ported engine.

Yes, this is with the half bridge. Ports aren't loud, exhaust systems are.

Stuck the GoPro to the passenger window and went for a little drive.

No sound on my laptop, but in the car all you really hear is transmission and diff whine. And the rod-ends in the rear suspension. (Man those are annoying)

lol you got a suspension problem, and its a little bit dangerous to.

I thought the special whine came from the gearbox

Standard gearbox, nothing fancy. (Like I'm going to spend $20k on a transmission) If it was straight cut gears in the trans, the noises would go away in 4th...

Either way: This car is now loads quieter on the road than my VW is. Which means I need to put a turbo on the VW to make it quieter

Brake light is mostly a brake light bulb that's busted.

No, what I mean is the rx-7 gearbox has a special whine when you go in revs and then stop pushing the gas pedal, a normal gearbox hasn't that noise.

I think that "rotary whine" is not the transmission, but the rotor and stationary gears. They're straight cut, after all. And, if you've ever heard a geardrive on a piston engine, they can be very loud even when behind a lot of metal.

Bear in midn that the pickups used the same gearsets as the RX-7, and the transmission has been used in almost every RWD platform. Only the RX-7 is "noisy".
