Pros: None to speak of.
Cons: Poor oil cooling ability. It will keep the oil at the same temp as the coolant or near enough as makes no difference. If you have a front mount, keep it. It cools way better and also has a bit of extra oil capactiy. The oil cooling system is very important to engine longevity. Use the best if you want it to last.

pro;
1. you can get them cheep due to no one wanting them
2. your oil cooler is out of the way so you can now install a big fmic
2. it IS better than nothing, its what you use if its your only option
con;
1. its worth about 5 bucks or a 12ga shell...
2. if it over 80deg where you live your car may be verry unhappy...

Ahhh, I'll send you my beehive if you have an FMOC and want to send it to me! Freed up space in front of your radiator and a free, cool, "out of the way" cooler!!

I like the beehive where it's hard to install an air oil cooler. Make sure it gets full flow from the coolant port on your rear plate, and make sure there is a restrictor on the line that goes to your heater core. That's $80 worth of advice right there. I mean, if you're into rotary swaps in previously piston powered POSes.

I would only run a beehive where theres not room for something else. Good tip
on the restrictor.
i think ill stick to my oil cooler iup front i have loads of space in my engine bay due to removing heat and ac options but its always good to know about these options and cfamily do you have time tonight i might go pick up that steering wheel of your hands

thank you very much, I have a Lotus 7 clone with a setab clone oil cooler in front and it is marginal, but i can hold water temp at 160 in 100+ days. The car is going to get a tll engine and what is planned is to use a beehive and a s4 cooler side mounted with a scoop. the side mount would do a little less cooling, but i think it would be bypassing unless the beehive couldn't keep up, figure the extra restriction of the s4 cooler wouldn't matter much at higher oil temps. Am going to have to raise the intercooler a tad or use a different one but will have to build a hood scoop either way. Critics are welcome.
it might be interesting to see how the beehive works with a FOMC, the beehive will actually heat the oil UP in some situations, basically i'd expect oil temps with just the beehive to be within 10-20F of the water temps, which is totally fine.
so if you have a marginal cooler now, adding the beehive in front of it should really help
