That's it Dave, hold your ground, you don't need to do a thing to that car. And I'd love to have to be washin' and waxin' that thing every weekend

The only "mod" I would recommend might be to ground the throttle body. The Mazda 3 guys do this and it helps quite a bit with throttle response since it's electronic throttle body.

Ray, i'd love to be washing and waxing the beast every weekend...however, there is about 10 of snow in my driveway right now. really puts a damper on things. i'll snap a pic of my buried 8 shortly. i much prefer stock cars over modified ones so i'll definatly be holding my ground they seem to last much longer when they're unmodified.

Seeing the pictures of yours in black really makes me wish mine was black as well instead of Winning Blue.

i can tell you that Brilliant Black chips easialy, attracts filth like none other, and requires constant washing..but when its clean and waxed, there is no better color for the car imo...fwiw, i originally wanted velocity red but couldnt find one in the area with the options i wanted and mileage. i settled with BB being my second (extremely close) choice.

I wasn't even in the market for a Rx8 when I found mine. I was actually looking for an '80's 911, trying to price shop, when I got a phone call from a friend who had a close friend selling his Rx8. He said he'd let it go for how much he owed on it, which at the time was a few grand under Blue Book. I couldn't pass up the opportunity when I saw how great of shape it was in and everything else. Coincidentally, the car has been perfect in every fashion.

I even get over 25 miles per gallon combined city and highway driving on average. I just need something more practical, and I wish I would have waited so I could have had a bigger down payment. Now I'm at the point where I don't even get to enjoy the car, and the insurance is so high that it is taking all my money away from my FB, so the Rx8 needs to go soon. I'm planning on officially listing it after I road trip to California for Sevenstock.

sad to hear that the 8 is a mild burden. i thourougly enjoy mine. my insurance is &8 per month. thats for full coverage. not too bad. the things that help me are that i'm over 25, married, own a home, and i'm a police officer. those little tid bits help keep the insurance low.

gas mileage is somewhere near 20mpg with combined city and highway.

I am paying more than twice what you are in car insurance. Maybe I should get married and become a police officer. I turn 25 in a couple months, and my insurance has already dropped from that. I also do not have anything on my record. I think I am just getting robbed.
