$1250 '85 GSL with minor upgrades and rebuilt (by mazda) engine. The only bad things were the seats were torn up and the whole car had about 225000 on the clock (excluding engine and maybe some other things)

Replaced the tranny and the clutch. I owe my mom lots of money now.

'85 S got it for free, airline miles in '99.
Put a new muffler on it and drove it from NH to MI 2 days later. Still runs great

79 gs, 850 (150 yet to give him), put 300+ into so far and still not running, owe my gf 400 for helping out getting it. feel stupid for paying so much. guy said "oh a little tlc and she'll be good." does a carbeurator rebuild fall under tlc?

but alas, autoxing a caravan isn't very fun and i have the rotary bug.....................

2001 - $500 for a Limited '83. Dumped about another $300 into getting it running and safe...planning another $2000, mostly for paint, interior work, and tires...someday (except those tires...sun rot is scaring the hell out of me...)

1990----83 GSL------3800--Mint/Totaled by drunk.
1990----81 GSL------1500--Great, 85 13B w/Dellorto and Headers later
1992----84 GSL-SE--Great Cond, Spark plug tip killed engine.
---------Then another SE Engine (from 81 car, now for parts) - blew too
---------Rebuilt and Street ported - $800 (good deal)
1993----82 GSL------500--running, but kept for parts.

1995 Got a Truck - out of rotaries.. Bowed never again!

Talked to my Landscaper who has an RX-3 with power.
Got thinking about rotaries again, realized I never got what I always wanted- a Turbo 1st Gen widebody.

Fell off the wagon, and got another..

2001----85 GSL-SE----400 Parts Car.
2002----85 GSL-SE---2800 MINT, MINT, MINT, 100% Original, female owned and driven by original owner.

What is going to cost in the long run? We'll see..

85 GS- $450-used for parts
82 GS- $150-The AutoXer

Both bought in 2001

Yeah, my parts car cost more than my racer. But I bought the 82 with bent front control arms. Swapped over the 85s then blew up the clutch the next day. Put in a new clutch, RB springs, header w/ staight pipe to cheap muffler, Koni's, ES bushings, etc. New Pilot bearing locked up 2 days later. Dropped tranny again, replaced pilot. 4 Days later, tranny gives up, no 2nd 4th or Rev. Me and a few buddies pulled an all nighter to swap in 85 tranny, raced it for the 1st time 2 days later and she loved every minute of it. Still running good today, with a race this Sunday!!

2001 - 84 gsl-se 139k miles, good condition, runs very good, for $1500 including year old race tires and wheels, year old tokico illuminas, brand new ring and pinion for rear end, year old 4-point harness, and brand new helmet. so, just car would be roughly $800-ish maybe?
