Go to your meets!

That is basically all I have to say. A couple rotorheads and I caravaned 250 miles down to Jefferson GA for a RX7 meet. We met up with Rxtasy3 and his streetported 13b. Ray Green hosted this wonderful event at his residence, complete with free parking and a section for working on your car (I made good use of it). His wife made awesome food, and plenty of fun for everyone. The most first gens that I have seen together in person.

2.5 tanks of gas, and about 7 hours of driving. It was a BLAST. I encourage everyone to go to a meet or three every once in a while. Never met someone I didn't like

Looks like a great time. I have only gone to one local meet in the past, I feel kind of out of place when I don't actually have a rotary car there...

Hopefully that will all change this next year, planning on making it out to alot of events.

You should come down to NC

Thats a long drive, but I am sure that any meet you go to your car will be a hit.

Yeah that would be quite the road trip. Me and a friend were thinking about going to sevenstock this year, but I dunno if I will end up being able to. It is up in the air because it's still a ways away but it would be a blast.

Thanks, alot of time and money into my car, should turn a few heads.

it's Stu right? it WAS a blast. really pissed me off finding out later i could have stayed longer. i figured it took me 1.25 tanks to make the trip there and back, including all the turn-arounds. mapquest really needs to update their ****.

That's why I use RandMcNally.

that gives the exact same directions we had. the problem is u have to make a right onto old kings bridge rd, and that takes u to new kings bridge rd. the directions only say right onto new kings bridge rd.

I've been trying to find a local meet to go to. I know there are some in GA, but not this far south, I guess. I would love to meet some of ya'll who have helped me in my quest to own more than one running RX7! LOL

i'll tell you guy's i'm jealous!! up north we never have meets. the last one i hosted was in 05.... and only three guys showed up...we did a 12A teardown and it was a good day. definatly not as good as your guy's day. Ray Green has always been a great contributor to this forum and a great guy to go to when someone is in need of something!! i wish i could have gone and met everyone!!

One less since I moved down here to Charlotte. I made that trip with Jeezus and Bad 83 along with rxtasy3 who we met up with in Spartansburg, it was a blast.

Its great being able to drive the 7 all year long. If I was still in the burg it would be put away in the garage and waiting until spring to get pulled out.

I'm thinking of hitting the Raleigh and Charleston meets sometime in the future as well.

tg, u catch my post in the other thread with the map? had we gone farther on 441 we would have seen new kings bridge but it would have been waaay farther than needed. the old kings bridge is the short cut to it.

Yeah saw it. Now that we know it, thats a great short cut to get there. I still like google over mapquest. The google maps are more up todate.

Talking

2 hours drive aint bad. My bros and I met up with Doc in Central CA and then drove to San Francisco for the 1st Rotorfest meet a few years ago. Best part was toying a RX-8 on the I-5. A few hours later, we partied hard with my relatives (SF locals) til mid-night. Then drove back to LA and we were home by 6AM. That was fun but kinda hard on my wallet (apprx $250 on gas round trip).
