The funniest thing...

So I'm driving home tonight after work and pulled to the red light next to a newish Saturn. I take off not to hard nor wimpy, and as we both get out the city limits into the country home, the Saturn's drivers punches it. It must have a turbo or something because we are doing about seventy five and he is pulling fairly quick. So I dropped down to four and immediately started to close up on it, so I shift to fifth and got this empty handed sort of feeling. I am not getting anywhere no time soon as I let off the gas and realized my MKI shifter is off the tranny and in my hand. I should run into this guy again and making wipe off whatever grin he got on his face thinking he wept me. Anyhow, my wife and I laughed about it, I got home and replaced the bolts with longer ones and place lock washers on it for now.

well, believe it or not, the dual cam saturns are pretty quick. i have had several of them, and i don't think my old fb would beat them. when i had my first fb, my friends sl2 would walk on me haha. my current one has a few mods so it might hang in there a little better. so from a totally unbiased opinion, stock for stock, the saturn is probably faster, but the fb is way cooler so screw him lol.

They're pretty light because of all the polymer panels in place of metal, so that 100hp single cam or 125hp twin cam engine moves the car a bit better.

He did whip you. But he did it through maintenance rather than power. The devil is always in the details...

The shifter incident happened to my Dad too. Only his shifter was about 3" long in a 37 Ford. He managed to stick it right back in place and continue driving.

lack of maintenance

My lack of maintenance and having to drive this car everyday got me whoop. I will get that twin cam Saturn and having look at the 5 letters that are on the left side of the car, (GSL-SE), momentarily as I pull away.

I've seen a stockish Saturn Ion Redline w/BPU make 235whp. Exact same car as the Cobalt SS, good luck beating that. FYI the new Cobalt SS is faster around Nuremberg Ring than the stock C6 Corvette.
