Fb rx7 suspension
Hello I'm completely restoring one of my 82 rx7s, and I need to know what I should so for the suspension. I want coilovers on the front height adjustability in the back and some good shocks. What's good and not race car expensive.

For coilovers on the front you will need a camber plate for the top (I use Ground Control), adjustable spring perch, 2.5" springs and strut inserts (aka shocks). The following thread has very good info on installing a couple of different bilstein shocks "Best Non-Adjustable Shocks and Struts". It is also possible to use Konis or Tokicos for the rear of a Mk1 Toyota MR2. There is info on these as well if you search on the site.
For adjustable springs on the rear I installed a 5" spring adjuster from either Speedway Motors or Summit Racing (maybe Allstar brand). Welded it to the unibody. This process is described in a thread initiated by yeti and called "rear springs" in the 1st gen section. You will need a 5" x 8" long spring. I got mine from Landrum.
Spring rate will depend on what you are using the car for. I am sure there will be plenty of suggestions for spring rate. My experience other than with stock springs is all in racing application.
Going this way there is a fair amount of fabricating involved, but nothing to crazy. Also not crazy expensive.
Good luck,
Carl

I've been a fan of my BC set up so far, and it's not too crazy expensive given the market. The fronts require cutting and welding the factory struts and the rear is a bolt on afair.
They definitely ride rougher than factory and will lower the car about 2" regardless (and then you can go another ~3" lower than that). Depending on how the roads are where you're located and your comfort preferences they might be a bit rough, but I personally enjoy them. Good mix of sporty and comfort in my opinion with their default configuration.
