Electric Steering

So I was reading my 2nd favorite Automotive site the other day, and saw this article for electric steering for vintage cars. Very interesting read and so I decided to look on their site for our favorite vintage car. Sure enough there is a kit for an 82 RX-7. I wonder how well it would integrate the MTheoryInc steering rack?

I think it could work with MTheory's kit, the inner u-joint is about here. I'm guessing it comes with a shaft that attaches where the nylon crash pins go, so you'd cut it around there.

Maybe Mr. @MTheoryInc could answer that?

Very interested in this, but can't tell from the site if this is meant for the stock recirculating ball setup. Also, whether it would work on cars that originally came with PS from Mazda...?

Would like to know more, and them being in UK wouldn't slow me down from ordering and waiting! TIA,

I figure that even if it the lower half of the steering column it would still work with either the stock steering or the MTheory rack & pinion.

Interestingly, the steering in my '81 is much lighter than the (power) steering in my 2006 Volvo or my 2015 GTI...
