is this a new development? have you driven another rex w/o power steering?

Honestly, having driven a few different cars with and without power, having one w/o power will *always* be hard. If you're not moving, it'll take serious force to turn those wheels w/o power steering. That's why it was invented in the first place!

Otherwise, if it's just a new problem with your non-power steering being even *harder* than usual, I'm not sure.. maybe needs some lube somewhere? sorry, not a steering expert.. Than again, since you're in Mississauga, you could just wait for CP Racing's Rack and Pinion Steering kit to be finished, cruise over there, and you'd be set!

Anybody?

Jon

Unless you are moving manual sterring sucks.

These are not the easyest cars to parrell park.

They call it arm strong steering for a reason.

If you are actually having a steering problem, try to grase any thing you can in the front end that relates to steering

Ha nice one Inittab...

I never thought of that, makes the surface area of the tire greater, which in turn makes the wheels harder to turn.

Nice one indeed

By adjusting the steering box, you can reduce some of the force required for turning - but you have to be careful. If not done properly, the steering will go downhill fast! Follow this link for the procedure - and there's also a ton of stuff on steering if you do a search... http://www.mazspeed.com/steeringgear.htm

When I first got my rex, the steering was tough, I thought it was merely because it wasn't powered, then a few weeks later, I checked the tread on the front, the inside was worn down to the belts, got new rubber, and an alighnment, and whoa. It was like I had power steering. Might solve your problem.
