Chrome finish SE wheels?

How do you guys think SE wheels would look in chrome? Mine have most of the factory coating chipped or flaking off so they don't look very good from within 10 feet. I was thinking they *might* look good chrome and possibly even widened to 8". Anybody have pics of SE's lowered on factory wheels with low-pro tires or pics of chromy SE wheels?

Why do those look like snap-on wheel covers to me? Is it the edge lip? The center section seems to be separate from the rim.

Any other pics of modified SE wheels? Maybe a darker grey? Black? Black with a chrome lip?

That's just highly polished. You can do it yourself. The SE Rims are pretty easy to do since you can use a powered Sander for most of it.

I used to have Polished SE rims (over 13 years ago). I did it in a day
with the help of a friend.

You sure? They look chromed to me? Also, if you look at the cardomain, the inner part of the wheel is also 'chrome' Would somebody really bother to polish that part?

You are correct. Those are chromed.

Chromed SE Wheels (Part I)

Chromed SE Wheels (Part II)

The ones I had where polished, and looked pretty damn good.
But not quite as nice as those. I also painted the insert sections
the same color as the car was (Gunmetal Grey).

I think they would also look good if they where powder coated smoke chrome or even black chrome (which is a translucent black or chrome powder).

Do you have pics of your wheels? Have to say, that sounds better than chrome

I like the stock finish better than chrome, but I am old school.

I polished my old ones.

They came up to a mirror shine and looked **** hot when i painted the inserts satin black.

I'm pretty sure I have some pic's on a CD floating around somewhere...give me a few days and i'll see if i can find em.

Thanks, and believe it or not (and I really don't know why) but I enjoy polishing things.
