Back to the dyno yesterday and got 183rwhp (137kw) and 154lbs torque (210nm) torque, engine is a 12app with a modified nikki carb, the fuel pressure was dropping off at the higher rpm it went from 4.5psi to 2psi so I couldn't get enough fuel in it to get the AFR's I was after, so I didn't bother adjusting the ignition timing as I didn't want to risk detonation with AFR's on the lean side, still pretty happy considering its a nikki carb!

Nice! this is what I am looking for in my car. I have a 3" exhaust and just purchased a 650 cfm Holley carb and manifold for it. The engine has a mild street port.
What kind of power should I expect to get?

Assuming it doesn't drown in fuel... I'd say 140hp... Maybe 160

You may want an edelbrock 500. You'll have a more useful powerband. Velocity matters.

1979 Mazda Rx-7 dyno runs

Howdy!
My mechanic finally sent me the videos he took of my old honey on the rollers.

... He isn't a cameraman, but at least his phone/whatever has a decent microphone!

Enjoy good noises:

It's a freshly overhauled street port 12a with full RB exhaust and 465 holley carb. This video was taken while trying to tune out a wicked flat spot. Apparently they eventually accomplished that, though I haven't driven the car since, or seen any dyno plots of this yet.
Regardless, even with the buzzkill flat spot, it was sheer joy to drive the old girl, so it will doubtlessly be a big improvement!

With flat spot: 116whp.
New tune: tba!
