Victoria British, Mazdatrix, and Rockauto have been really good. Performance Rotary has been very shitty. They advertise a performance air intake and I ordered it in December. After several calls, the secretary said that the owner just doesn't want to make time to put the kits together. What kind of business is that? Two other FB owners are waiting as well.

Angry Parts and parts

I have been watching the comments about CP Racing & Designs to determine if I was just one of of the "unlucky" with these people. After two years of this obversation I have this statement for you.

I paid 250.00 U.S. dollars for the headlight kit, sent it back with the understanding that I would get a credit on account for future purchaces. I think they are still laughing at me for thinking they were honest.

I have dealt with many suppliers for my three 1985 RX7 GSLSE`s since 1990. There is a difference between a "problem" and getting ripped off.

It is your money and if you had a good experience then good on ya!

Rotary Aviation - I have bought a few rebuild kits from them.
Fast shipping, decent prices and sweet-*** products

Mazdatrix - I have made several deals with MT, fast and painless.
Allthough it kindda sucks they wont accept foregin VISA

Corksport - I placed a few orders with them back when i had my FC, to me it seems like they dont have anything in stock, they sent me the wrong rear brake pads once, i dont bitch about it though cus i didnt bother to send them back(overseas shipping sucks). They do have some killer products at fair prices, though shipping it out seems to take forever.

ROTARY PERFORMANCE = F -

i live about 10 minutes from the rotaryperformance here in texas(rx7.com)

1. They have horrible customer service: I was trying to talk to them about my first gen tII swap and they said "we dont deal with first gens anymore". very rude people.

2. horribly overpriced: They wanted 4500$ to do a mild streetport and rebuild on my TII motor. I took it to flauta racing in fort worth and had a large streetport, new rear housing and rear rotor, and a couple of other tricks done for 3200$.

all i can say is that whenever i meet anyone who is thinking about going there to get some workk done i strongly tell them to go somewhere else.

yeah, rotary performance is a little iffy.

I ordered a ss clutch line for my SA, and they said they had it in stock but they didn't. Thats fine. They call me and tell me they'll ship it out in about 2 weeks. Cool. Well that all happened soon after christmas. I just got it about a week ago. At least it fits, and feels real good.

Oh yeah, and the "79-85" alternator pulley only fits 81-85 models.

Although I do not have rotary-specific experience with them, Summit Racing kicks ***. We've been getting parts from them for everything from Nissans, DSMs, small-block fords, to air-cooled VW's. Their retail store is an hour from my house. If it's in stock, it's waiting for me at the counter when I get there, and if it's not, their estimates are typically dead on. And while their staff isn't always knowledgeable about a specific car, they'll usually ask around their call center and find someone who knows.

Thumbs up parts

Victoria British has been great for hard to find stock parts. Fast shiping and quality parts. Also Rock Auto has a lot of stock parts at very reasonable prices.

That is because you can go to their shop whereas the rest of us have to order it and run into gigantic problems because of that.

junkyard sellers:

I had a bent spindle that needed replacing, a new strut/spindle assembly is ~$350. So I wanted a used part. The local yard's FB was too rusted up, and I have a phobia of spring compressors.

atlantarx7 (http://www.atlantarx7.com/) : prices look good. I ordered using the online system. A week passed and nothing. After a few calls I finally got a hold of 'em and cancelled. I didn't want to wait. I've heard Sam's good, but lately has been running into some problems. The store had listed the part at $75 for one strut assembly, I don't know if that included shipping.

915 Racing eBay store (http://stores.ebay.com/915-Racing) : deals in FBs and FCs parts. They didn't have the strut listed on their store, I called them up (they answer the phone) and asked. they sell 'em for $29 a pair. I live in the same state (they're in Wichita Falls), so shipping was a breeze. Parts looked pretty good for junkyard parts, not too much rust. Thumbs up from me.

I read this thread and took notes. Enjoy!

The following suppliers got many, many great comments (sorted from most to least; not necessarily best to least-best):
Racing Beat
Mazdatrix
Victoria British
Summit Racing
Rotary Performance (rx7.com)

RP might have gotton more good comments than SR, but I put it at the end because rotaryrudy and rbf41182gt had customer service issues.

The following suppliers got more than one good comment (sorted alphabetically): Atkins Rotary, Mazda Motorsports, PBandJRacing, Rock Auto (www.rockauto.com), Rotary Aviation, Rotary Shack (Robert)

The following suppliers were mentioned once and in a positive light (sorted alphabetically) : 7s only, 915 Racing eBay store, AJ-USA, autonomics, banzai racing, G-Force, Gotham Racing, I/O Port, ISC Racing, www.jegs.com, Lopez's Racing (Alex Lopez), Malloy Mazda, Oreilly, Pegasus, Pineapple Racing, www.racersareme.com, Resppee, Rotary Racing & Reliability (Nick), RX7Carl, Safecracer.com, SR Motorsport, Tweakit.net
