Question My Tempeture gauge is not reading anything

I recently installed a street porrted motor into my 1990 GTU. Before I took my other motor out the Tempeture gauge was working fine. Now it does not read anything at all. When the car is on the, I see if the wire has electricity and it does. Im pretty sure that it is the tempeture sending unit that screws into the motor but I want to make sure first. Does anyone know if this is the problem? Thanks, Nelson

Are you checking the sensor under the oil filter? That's the guage one.

take out that sensor and clean it. Check it again.

That always do the trick!

I agree with NZCONVERTIBLE. The Coolant Sender Unit or the wire leading to It would be suspectible.

Check to see If the wire Is on snug.

I replaced all my coolant sensors as cheap(?) assurance.

- Water Temperture Switch
- Water Thermo Sensor
- Coolant Level Sensor
- Coolant Sender Unit
