Wolf v3 and the CAS
So I did a search, read the manual and searched more.
Im having a little trouble dicerning how to modify the CAS. I get the Idea of what to do, only where to start is the problem.
In the manual, it states I have to find 60 BTDC as a starting reference. How do I do this? I have a few Ideas as to how, I just would like to know what others did.
2nd: It says I have to put a capacitor inbetween 2 wires. So I essentially solder the two wires together in a capacitor or something? Im no electrician.
Kinda like to do this on my own, but Im only a simple hobbyist.
However, If someone has a well working modded CAS they want to sell me, give me a shout.
Thanks guys.

OK this is how I did mine it must be 7 years ago now. Set your motor at TDC it really depends on your engine. Now You measure the circumference of your pulley...mine was 360mm which means 1mm per degree. Now your marks are usually -20 and -5 degrees which means 5 mm clockwise of the most clockwise mark is TDC Mark 5mm past the most clockwise mark. Now go another 60mm clockwise this is the 60 Degree BTDC mark. Now rotate your motor clockwise to your new mark at 60 degrees BTDC. on Rotor 1. Pull your CAS and modify as per the Manual. I used a bearing puller to remove the top reluctor. Now mark all the points to be removed with RED marker. Check you have marked the right ones! Now give it to another person and check your work. IF IT IS ALL OK ...then with a die grinder carefully remove the marked lobes. I used a Vice with softjaws and a block to rest my grinder hand, this gives even cutting. Go slow use a used cutter so it doesn't bite. Once you have it looking just like the Wolf diagram stop. Clean it all up and reinstall as per the Wolf manual.

Nah there were really four choices back then... IIRC
Motec $$$$$
Haltech was new
Electromotive (no fuel.. but the TEC(1) was coming out IIRC)
Wolf
The wolf 3 I believe was better featured than all but the Motec.. and the wolf had a hand controller with the removable chips.
You could swap programs on the fly.
I had a restrictive lean program I ran when cruising on the highway in my 86 Sport, and I had a more fuel happy wild timing map I would run when screwing with people. I even had a rich on overrun flame thrower map I would use when I went on cruise nights with all the RX-7 in the Florida RX-7 Club before or right around when it became MRCCFL. It was a lot of fun to have that one on and when cruising around in high power map.. swap to the rich map and belch flames on each shift, and or deceleration in traffic.. or on the highway.
ONLY rich on deceleration btw.. so it wasnt an eye burner.
The real kicker. There was a Wolf 2D. That was even older. That was fuel only I think. Not sure. Would have to look it up. (or not LOL)
But as you said.. Windows 3.1 and 95 were the norm IIRC. Internet was a dial up modem for most people.
