Trailing toggle

I heard that I need to get a two channel ignitor to fire the trailings because the Wolf3D can't control the stock trailing toggle.

Can someone clarify that??

V4 cannot contol the stock trailing ignitor. You must by an aftermarket ignitor or one that functions out of another car. I just installed my trailing ignitor last night. I used a 3rd gen ignitor. Worked w/o a problem. The 3rd gen ignitor control's both leading and trailing coils if you like. myself just wired up the trailing portion of the ignitor, so to not have to run long leads from to the leading coil

The wiring i used was posted by nyt, and is available here https://www.rx7club.com/wolf-3d-125/howto-fd-igniter-wolf-3d-v4-389233/

Very stright foward, with nyt's map, when he says PIN 1, think a, 2, think b etc. I took photo's of my ignitor install into the stock location of the fc trailing ignitor, i can post them up if you like tonight

Still puzzles me to no end how the V3 had the toggle and the V4 doesn't...

Hi Nyt,
I have not found a way to fix the Trailing toggle with the V4 Wolf. I used Bosch modules and 4 HE761 coils. It does state that it will only run series 5 coils in that manual somewhere. I don't think it would have been too hard for Wolf to have kept this feature in the version 4 as it would only be a software option I would have thought! I suppose that you could make a emulator to keep your series 4 coils. Maybe a simple toggle circuit can be made that uses the 2 individual leads to convert to Toggle plus a trigger pulse. After doing the DFI conversion a cheap converter may have been a better answer. My DFI cost about $400 Au. In hind sight I recon I could have built a converter for $50 but I didn't thing laterally at the time I just wanted it to go!

BTW thanks for sharing your fuel/igntion map it has helped me heaps. I have made many adjustments to suit my engine but it takes the difficulty out of the initial setup! When I have my car running well I intend on doing the same!
