Talking New V400 /3dV4 Dash.

Well I am very Happy!!! This new interface has made life so much better for legal EFI use in Australia. The problem is that the old handset can change fuel and spark making it illegal to have fiited while driving in Australia. The New Dashboard looks sexy displays heaps and provides a great display of engine data. This means that Australians can now use the Dash to watch all your data while keeping it legal.
Disclaimer( this is my personal opinion and I don't own a dash YET! )

Cheers

Unfortunately (opposed to what I have read) the new PC software isn´t free. That´s a shame.

Well to be fair they also charged for there original software and you needed a licence key. However what do you get for $100 these days. Antivirus software only lasts 1 year and you need to renew. I hope that they make it free soon but it looks very promising. If we all hang on for a while and see what happens. I would suggest that it would have cost about $30, 000 in R&D for the software going by current rates and the time required to develop it.

Ok what about the Dash what do you think? My guess is it would be a good addition to my car and it would keep the police off my back.
R&D for the dash? ????

Cheers

do you mean like a digital dash where as you would just output all the sensor data to a screen? Tims started working one one for the haltech a few yearsa go.. it got expensive iirc

a dash would be cool, if you could make it fit where the stock cluster goes

I found the dash price too high. It costs half the price of the ECU!

There is a comprehensive tuning system allowing you to set Rev Limits, Temperature Compensators, Trims, and many other parameters. The Fuel and Ignition Maps remain fixed for tuning stability. Use Wolf PC Software to tune the Fuel and Ignition maps of your Wolf V400 (3DV4) ECU.
From here:
http://wolfems.cart.net.au/details/632479.html

You can change several things, but not everything. It doesn´t replace a hand-controller totally, but it does it partially.
If money is not an issue , I´d buy the dash and tune using a laptop and the new software

Thumbs down

My guess is that they are going to move out of the Handcontroller and use the Dash to meet legal requirements for road going cars here in Oz then to tune you would need a laptop. Don't be surprised if you see the handcontrol being phased out over the coming months.

You can still use the standard software and handcontroller to tune. It is just the Dash is designed to meet Oz requirements that is you mustn't be able to change fuel and Ignition with any interface connected to the ECU while on Australian roads.

That depends on where you live.

Give us a location and maybe we could point you to a tuner in your area...or you could do it yourself.

a little money from us for software probably goes a long way for them for making the software better and better.
the new v4s software is one of the main things that attracted me to this ecu, not to mention wolf usa is pretty close by so i get someone who can really kick *** tuning this computer
