What oil did Seth/ Puresports use?

I have a '95 FD and frequently had Seth change the oil - now he's temporarily out of action I need a top-up and don't know what to put in! What did those guys use?

Why not just put in some Royal Purple and call it good? Or, if you absolutely want to stick with mineral, go with Valvoline VR-1 racing oil. Those worked very well for me. I used 20-50 when I had my FD.

If you can't locate Seth, I would change the oil. I don't really like to mix different brands, or weights. I recommend using a synthetic. They are all pretty good. Since you live in a mild climate, a lighter weight oil should be fine. Perhaps a blend like 5-30. Costco has Mobil one at a pretty good price.

Seth used Valvoline or Carquest as break-in and some top-off. He also used Pentosin 5w-40 in some applications, as well as Lubrication Engineering oil (do a Google search).

If you need to track down Seth, word has it he will be working for a race shop in Kearny Mesa :-P
