Putting a S5 Turbo in a S4 set up.

I'm sure it's been discussed elsewhere. But since it's the subject of this thread:

GJ, what are the plus's and drawbacks of porting the wastegate?

Drawback it costs $$$ as opposed to watching your foot............
and then blowing the motor, which will cost more $$$$.

But why wouldn't you just go with a larger external wastegate ???

I think someone's been feeding you some BS. Or doesn't know what parts you have... I've only heard of porting stock WGs....

No wastegateport is more expensive, in the short run, as in people who say "That won't be me, I can controll the boost, I'll just let off when I see it creep" and then they blow their motor, and then it costs way more than the Wastegate did... hence more $$$$$.

Do nothing (Free)
Port Wategate ($$$) (As in Hundreds)
Doing nothing and blowing you **** up ($$$$) Thousands....

yea, it shouldn't cost hundreds unless that includes removing and reinstalling the turbo.

i charge more for fd's though. $50 and 2 cases of newcastle :P

and 2 cases if you want a larger flapper welded on the s4 gate.

and 3 cases if you want that **** blocked off so you can run an external gate on the stock fc manifold.
