Great vid! Also great recovery @7:24 And congrats on the standings. I read you got bumped up to street rwd. what was the reason? I'm really hoping to get a lot of seat time in before next years season and try to run the enthusiast class.

2 years ago 200 treadwear tires such as RS3's, Direzzas, Re-11s, etc were fine in enthusiast class. They changed the rules to 220treadwear thus making all such tires Street Class only tires. This makes things awkward for Enthusiast class because so much attention has been focused on development of these 200 treadwear tires that any other higher tread, less aggressive street tires have fallen behind.

There are Pilot Super Sports, which are definitely slower than people claim. And there are the Achilles 123s which seem to be about 1 second slower than RS3's... supposedly. I may just buy a seperate set of wheels/tires for just time attacks now. The Ziis are just to nice on the street and for HPDE events.

Yes I don't know why people keep claiming the PSS is so fast. It's probably the best all around tire, but not the best dry performance tire.

I get the spirit of that rule change, but it does add confusion. The 200 tread wear class has gotten a little silly the last couple years. Hell RS3s on their first heat cycle are nearly as fast as NT01s.

Oh wow yeah that definitely changes up what tire selection you run with. I'll have to make sure I keeps my mods within the enthusiast specs.

Nice work. I remember running with you when you had your FC. I ran a 1:49 a couple weeks ago at Auto Club Speedway.

I'm not sure if I believe it because I was running 1:52s most of the other sessions.

Your prefer it over Buttonwillow also? BW is my favorite track but I also have not been to ACS or Chuckwalla. A few people say Cuckwalla is the best track in the SW

yea i prefer it more than buttonwillow. but than again, i only ran buttonwillow 3 times, twice in my fc, and once in my FD with the stock twins, never timed myself there. it could possible my 2nd favorite. problem is, its pretty far, and gas stations far apart.

Willow Springs from yesterday. Was running into constant 20-30 MPH winds, so I'm happy with the time considering my mess up in turn 3. My rolling lap from turn 3 to turn 3 was half a second faster than the lap shown, and that was being held up by that s2000 into turn 4 (end of video). Also, the wind killed 6 MPH off my front straight speeds. 1:32s should be doable now.

Heading to Streets at the end of Feb so I will have some video from there as well.

That was an awesome lap. I can totally see you fighting the winds.

You and your fc are putting in work! Looking good! What lap timer are you using? It looks like one of the better ones I have seen. I'm going to try and get out there soon as soon as I get my front seal leak fixed. The track looked pretty empty, what host are you running with?

Thanks, I was running with Extreme Speed. I use the AIM SOLO for GPS lap timing. It is a really nice unit and gives you tons of data. Video was shot with a Go Pro and the overlay was done with Race Render software.

Nice save at 1:00!

Sweet vid, enjoy seeing your setup at work. Are you using an OEM steering rack without power steering? I ask because it seems like your steering a super heavy.

Thanks. Yea it is an FC manual rack in the car. It would probably be a hindrance if I autoXed. I actually like the feel and speed of the manual rack. The steering effort is not bad, it is actually lighter than I thought it would be with these size tires.

Here's my video, bought the car from Hank Sitko in WA a year ago, he put in a lot of work in the car. I kind of just finished it up and had the car prepped for track.

First time out with the FD was 2 weeks ago, Buttonwillow #13, had a lot of issues lol. Can only drive 3 hot laps before the oil catch can fills up and start spewing oil out the hood vent and onto the windshield.

Best laptime was a 1:56.0. Still a ton of time left in the car ! I think this car is capable of 1:50 at Buttonwillow #13, no problems.

Hope more FD guys come out and play !!

Car is now in the shop getting various fix done, hope to go out in Feb or March again.

There seems to be a time trial event hosted by scca on March 12/13th. I may be going. Anyone else planning on being there?

Im in LA the following weekend also but dont see any scheduled events at either willow, streets or buttonwillow.
