Visiting Sacramento from Seattle Any Good Bone Yards?
I am visiting Sacramento for a week and need some parts for my 87 GXL non turbo. Found 3 bone yards and wondering which is the best price wise. I called a couple and prices are all over the board. I need a new heater blower motor, switch panel that controls wipers, hazard lights etc., shifter linkage for a 5 speed, door locks and miscellaneous trim.
Any suggestions??

The two main yards are Mazda Auto Dismantling and Mazda Recycling, and they're so overpriced it's not even funny. It would be much cheaper to request the part in the for sale section and have it shipped out to you. The only reason I would go to these yards would be if I REALLY REALLY needed a part. Plus, bone-yard workers are generally disgruntled and unfriendly to deal with.

ditto what Kevin said, you can check out pick n pull which is nearby the mazda recyclers in Rancho Cordova but it is a crap shoot if they have what you will need. almost none of our local members use any of them for parts since the dismantlers are way overpriced and the ebay vultures and part ****** pick apart the RX7s and destroy the usable parts in the process to get the crap like radios and door panels for their
last time i was at the pick n pulls in Sac there was literally no good parts on the cars for anyone. the motor in one was seized and the other was stripped almost bare.

I ended up going to the mazda/mini yard and the mazda/porsche yards. I got a complete switch panel off a 91 which looks the same as my 87 for $100, a rear window wiper & motor, power antenna, carpet for the back, starter/solonoid, door lock, all for $250 from the Mazda/mini yard and a heater blower motor, the speaker trim piece from under the glove box and a trim piece for $75. How did I do?

I found a car not far from where I live in Washington but he flaked out on me at the last minute, I was not very happy and I want to get everything on my car working. The car most of the parts came off of was a 91 that had been in flood. The parts look pretty interchangeable but I'm not 100% sure, mine is an 87. Any comments?
Thanks for all your input and suggestions.

91 parts for an 87
The part I am most concerned about is the switch panel, I am tired of only having one speed on my windshield wipers. Idiot mechanic I had look at it told me it was the wiper motor and he "checked" the switches. I replaced the motor and still only one speed so now I have two working wiper motors. I also broke the turn signal/high beam switch so every time I hit the high beams the switch falls off and usually lands under my seat, rather annoying. The heater blower motor is out of a TII so not worried about it.
One piece that has me mystified is the speaker trim part under the glove box. I tore it apart last night to check out the speaker and it appears to have a built in amp, I haven't seen that before. I don't even know if I have the plug ins to fit it. But then I have put in an aftermarket stereo system and replaced the stock speakers. I have another question, (I know just enough to be dangerous) I have a 760 watt amp running two 10" Rockford Fosgate subwoofers in the back, I want to take the 5" Infinities I have in the front and put where the stock speakers sit in the back, can I wire those into my amp? I know this is overkill but I have an Eclipse stereo, two 5" infinities under the dash, 2 kenwood 5 x 7's in the storage boxes behind the seats in addition to the subwoofers and I want to add 3 or 4" under the dash and move the 5" to the back. Is this possible with the system I currently have?
Thanks,
Tammy/Skqqter

Yeah, the mazda Dismantlers are WAY overpriced, i was quoated 450 dollars for a S4 front bumper.... The one shop that was just off of sunrise (not the one way in back of that whole place) The main man there used to give me awesome prices, like half price of pick'n pull...but they shut down, and have new/different people working it, and that just want way too much money...125 for one fender...stupid...
as far as stoners, yes and no...depends what part of town your in lol
