Unhappy Suck

I just found out about the fire this morning. My baby was in there. The 94 RHD with veilside kit. I don't know what to even do at this point. I bought the car and took it to the shop to get the engine built before I put insurance on it. I was supposed to have the car about 2 weeks before the fire, and now......... If anyone has real contact info or information let me know. The shops number is no longer functional.

Holy ****, I can't believe that there are still people who haven't found out that their cars were reduced to ash yet!!!!!

Guys, I feel so bad for your loss. I really hope that a good solution presents itself to all of you.

maybe cell phone numbers should be limited to PM only?

Wouldn't the shop's insurance take care of the cars? I really hope so. So sorry about your cars.

cell #

I agree. If you have Seth's cell# then Pm it to me. The last thing he needs is for that number to be floating around.

i have'nt checked the boards for a while and this really sucks for everybody who lost their cars ( i lost 2 as well and all my tools and some parts) i know seth put his heart and soul in that shop and to have it burn down is tragic. we both have put many many hours in helping out the rotary guys ( and girls) and when i heard about this it makes me sick.
As for the spd /puresports thing spd racing was (or still is ,i don't know)a mail order parts place and pure sports was the fab. and repair side. they are 2 diff. companys. The phone # (760-787-5759) is for the shop and i would say it does'nt work. As a rotary guy since 1979 this really breaks my heart to see all those cars burt up i hope it all turns out ok for everybody who lost their car.

as for all the haters if you have something bad to say about seth or his shop you need to say it to his face and not post a bunch of B.S on this rx7 forum.

Chris,

I'm sure this REALLY hits home with you. Last I saw you was when I picket up the JSpec Tranny. I heard you moved somewhere out of state. Where did you land?

this sure is interesting. i will say this. i've been to puresports (SPD) and it's various aliases many times. seth was always very freindly, as well as the Dan (a BF 323 guy).. i'd say i'd been there no more than 10 times tops. i did'nt read all ten pages, but i want it pointed out the 323 BF chassis guys never got thier money back on thier group buy, only one hood was ever made AFAIK, and the protetype was on Dans car, and he helped seth at SPD. everyone there are at SPD are very nice people to meet. Protege second gen guys are going to have the same problem getting replies, though, as seth was usually VERY busy and out in teh shop, and not awnsering emails, but accepting "real-world" work, with online communities coming in second... and now with this, i'm sure contacting him will be all but impossible, i'm sure he's deluged.

and i dont know how to delicately put this..so that i dont make any enemies, i dont want anyone to think i have ANYTHING bad to say about seth, becuase he's ALWAYS been a good guy to me. i'm not saying anything bad about anyone... but that car lift in the fire pics.. they were always putting cars up and down off that thing.. it was in constant use, every time i was there something was being worked on that was actively streetable.. unfortunately for some reason, there are cars behind the lift where the car on the top would be blocked in.. that shop is unusually full of FCs and FDs.. from someone who's been there, i've never seen that many in the shop at once. in fact, i count no less than six cars blocking the operation of that lift.

i'm not saying anything that's not the absolute truth, i'm not trying in insinute. i'm not starting ****. just letting the facts be said from someone who's been there. fuckign sucks to see so many lost.. that is all i am saying. let's just say they were really, really busy when this happened.

i hope everyone gets contacted by the insurance. i'd hate to lose my car this way.

^^ since the fire started past midnight, I would think all the cars were crammed in the shop for storage overnight. Thats why their all packed in like you see in the photo. I could be wrong, this is just what I have observed.

makes more sense.. i mistakenly read it had started during the day. somehow, i read 12:20pm. Seth has always been a great guy in person, even if his net responses were slow. cant blame a guy for making a buck in the real world first. bad break. surprised the ones outside cought too. bummer, i wanted that brown FC that was out there.

^^ the cars blocking the lift were the running vehicles that they pulled in and out of the shop, and yes they were pulled in at night for safe keeping. ive been to another shop where they had many FDs in the shop at once, Gotham Racing, another place I would highly recommend. i dont understand what you are getting at by mentioning that there were so many in there at one time, i'd think its because all those people trust the mechanic doing the work. if you think id prefer to have my car burned to the ground to get some money you're crazy. i knew my car, i knew what her kinks were. who knows what ill find next.

Wow, that was a very shitty thing to do. I wouldn't have guessed that anyone at Rotary Power would do something like that.

Whatever happens behind the scenes between shops, should stay that way if you don't have solid proof. If you actually received a copy of that email or actually talked to Jeff or Seth about it, that's different. Otherwise, every source of information would be second or third hand.

Please keep stories on the level. No need for bad blood to occur from unjustified rumors.

Take your supposed emails between shops OFF this thread. It doesn't belong here.

Some of us happen to know a few people here and there AND we don't take too kindly to people who spread heresay info. If you have a copy of this supposed email, then talk about it. But until you do, this is heresay info.

And if you have a problem w/ it...why you don't take it up w/ Jeff at Rotary Power. I'm sure Jeff would be interested in hearing what you have to say about "his email".

All of the comments about Rotary Power are stopped and there is no need for anyone to post more about it. I have already talked to the parties involved with the postings in this thread. Now if it bothers people that much then I'll go and delete all of the posts pertaining to that topic. Speak up if it bothers you, the last thing I want is another damn flame war.

This is such an insane tragedy!! I am one of the last people to find out and I feel so bad. Seth always opened his doors to me. Just a little broke student racer trying to get as much track time as he can..........helped me fix my baby every time she broke I dont know what I am going to do with the shop gone. Puresports was easily one of the top three best rotary shops in the US and now its gone.

All this trash talking is sickening and ridiculous. Im so glad seth never rolled in the mud with the pigs that have posted here he just did damn good work and built a base of loyal customers with his quality and dedication. Seeing all the people jealous of his accomplishments so happy to see his shop gone is a testament to how great it was. I hope he gets back into buisness soon, there will be lines waiting outside when he opens his doors.
