Steve Kan Tuning Session in April: Who's Coming With Me??
Hey gang, Im setting up a tuning session with Steve Kan. Shooting for mid April. I have a shop lined up (R&D Dyno in Gardena) but Im open for suggestions if you can beat the price and the freedom to tune. Who's down? Looking for 10? More info when I get a few serious replies.
Thanks

I'm in.
I've organized several of these with Steve myself the last one being a couple months ago.
We used Black Sheep Performance in Santa Rosa. They were $90 an hour iirc and let us run the dyno basically.

I'm interested if I don't make the Arizona run. How are these places you guys sugest? The last place in Glendale sucked. The wideband kept breaking down and I think the dyno time was overpriced. Are you north or south CA?
I'm VERY interested in coming to this!!! assuming that I get a clutch by then.... But ill try my best to have that installed before april so i can let you guys know ahead of time... but for now I"m saying that ill be there.

ok, so my question stands: How reliable is the shop? The last group Kahn tune I went to was at a tiny shop and their wideband broke. Also, dyno time rental varies from shop to shop. I don't want to pay a tie down fee like XS charges.

Sorry I didnt address your question in my last post. The guys at Rotary Power recommended this shop to me as they use them all of the time for their dyno sessions. I havent personally been there yet but I will be going to check them out this friday after work. Im told that the shop has everything we need as far as tools, tie downs, etc. and after the phone conversation, seem really laid back and have no problem letting Steve test the way he wants to test. Ive heard many horror stories of XS and this place is nothing like this. Jeff at Rotary Power goes there all of the time and has never had a problem with R&D Dyno (www.rddyno.com/). Price is $125/hr. If anyone knows of places cheaper with no hassles, Im always open for suggestions.
I'd like to call Scott at Rotary X back tomorow to set up a date. Hopefully we can get around 10.

Im down, Keep me posted. I want to crank up my Turbo pass 20psi. All i need now is another Walbro. By any chance how much would it cost all and all for the Kahn+Dyno.
Also R&D is the best place to do this it is a decent size shop.

Hrmm... I've been wanting to see steve's tuning. Maybe he can work some magic. I have faith in my current tuner and i am satisfied with his work. Everyone says steve = tuner god. Hell.. if steve can crank 15% more HP out of my peak HP, I'd pay double his price, LOL.
