The sad thing is I'm not even sure when I'll be able to bring my baby back on the road...too many things going on in my life right now (and not enough $$).

Really...
Well there's a price for everything and I'm sure if you've got the money there'll be people out there getting it done for you.
So I take it they can do FD too? (just curious, not that I'm planning to go over to the darkside)
Hey I noticed you've got those clean old skool BLITZ 3pc wheels on your car. I was probably one of the first if not the first to have them on a FD in the States back in the day. Ahh, memories...

I hear Meguires shines well but doesn't last. Zaino OTOH, just keeps shining.
I fixed my old dull paint with clay bar, Zaino Z5 to hide scratches & swirls and then some shinier Zaino stuff on top. Even after most of a year I had less swirl marks showing than the brand new cars I've seen, and it still shined too of course. Once got into an "argument" with someone who said my car was repainted and he pointed to the tell-tale signs. The owner before the last owner did repaint it about a decade ago.
You could try a wash with detergent to remove the old wax, then a clay bar to smooth it out the finish a ton, then wax it for shine. Hopefully that'll fix a bunch, except the swirl marks. Buffing works too, and faster maybe, and it'll get the swirl marks, but that takes more tools, goop and experience.
