I'll post pics of the pre-wax later tonite(photobucket is blocked at my work). But it seemed to me that all the clear coat was gone from the hood. The texture was very rough and grainy. Felt horrible.

But i coated the hood with a layer of Meguires Scratch X. that replenished some of the brightness. But not very much. after applying a layer of the scratch X. I Used the Meguires Gold Class Paste.

I have been using the Black Magic liquid stuff, and i think i recommend the meguires stuff much more. It was very easy to apply with the provided application pad, and it looked really nice while applying.

in the pic above, that was after one quick layer done in about 15 minutes. Until you see the before pics, you cant really appreciate the after pics above.

stay tuned.

My friend also told me about this 3 step paint renewal system that meguires sells. I might try that one the whole car. Just something to make the car look a little nicer until i can afford a paint job.

I don't really run canyons anymore...too many cop traps and dumb drivers on the road and unpredictable road conditions. But I still do "spirited" drive around some of SoCal's twisties every now and then.

The last "run" I did my friend in his turbo Elise and I tore up Central CA including a national park that shall remain nameless. I think all the campers and vacationing families heard us coming w/ our angry exhaust note from like a mile away! But we kept it safe, for the most part.

Nowhere in the US is it illegal, many people just think it is. Kind of like driving bare foot people for some reason think is illegal.

ranker includes "no loyalty." in his case, he ranked out and switched to a pist-on.

Wouldnt riding hoodless give cops an easier time to bust out those ref rickets on you? Not ticket you for the fact that your hood is not there, but more of the fact that you have a completly different engine in there all together? Similar to the 240 epidemic and the massively overrated sr20.

Anyway, nice hood. Awesome car. Maybe after Im done with my Spirit-R conversion, I'll drop a LSX in there ;p

That side scoop is needed for added coolage-ability for MR-2's mid enigine set-up.

I saw a 91 turbo MR-2 this weekend that couldve/should have one of those. A girl drive's it too....I really wanna give it to her lol

Honestly, it doesnt worry me in the least. Infact, if i were to get pulled over, i'd be like 'wanna check out what i got under the hood?"

I'm a Clean cut 25 year old white guy. (yes, that does help, sad but true). 90% of my driving is to and from work, which means i'm in a button down shirt and slacks. I dont have tattoos, so i dont look like a punk. Cops dont F with me, and in return, i try not to F' around in front of them and i show them respect when pulled over.

Plus, everyone i meet on the street is pretty impressed with the swap(why would a cop be any different? they are still human). Its only the losers on the rx7club who have prolly never even seen a swap in person that really talk ****.

240s are owned by young punks that want to drift...

Jaime, what car did you recently pick up? oh yeah, Nissan 240...
