had a question regaurding fees and such..... I hope this clears it up. (some changes were made for this year)
they have made it a little more confusing this year as far as the cost. it used to be so simple. (2007 was super easy).... Isley, why are they making this so hard for new people to understand? I can see how these newbies are getting confused.
the way it works, is to show up and run with nothin, and no online pre registration, it would cost you:
$15 for weekend SCCA membership. (used to be $5)
$40 for non pre registration entry fee
so $55
now lets say you pre register online (I highly recomend it) then the cost would be:
$15 for weekend SCCA membership
$30 for pre registered entry fee. (you save $10)
now if you decide you want to do this on a regular basis, then I suguest you get the full SCCA membership. ( go to SCCA.com) (make sur eyou enter your last months receipt number to save $15, and make sure you enter my name and number as the referal number...... casey Brier 378186 ... if you enter me as a referal, you save another $15. ) Maczpayne jsut did this and wound up costing him $15 for the YEAR. (It cost me $90 since I dont get any discounts... so take advantage of it.... at least the referal if you dont have the receipt form the last month).... also, if you want to do some of the bigger races like the Pro Solo, or the divissionals, then you HAVE to have a full SCCA membership.
so lets sey you got the membership, and you pre registered online. then the total cost to race when you show up at the track would be $30. (you can even pay this online now, this saves you from standing in the long registration line.)
I hope that helps, let me know if you need any more help.
oh yeah, and lets say you want to run more runs then the normal 3. (3 more) you can purchace "X runs" at the aditional cost of $25. this is nice becuse you dont have to work again. these runs are taken RIGHT after you do your "normal" 3 runs.
now just to confuse matters more. lets say you want to run most f the year (you of course should get your SCCA membership), you can / should get a CSCC membership. (solo2.com). this is the local membership that allows you to run for points / championship. it also gives you an assigned number. like how I am number 806. if I didnt have an assigned number I would be assigned a 600 number when I got to the track. you can worry about this more next year, but if you want to "take the plunge" you can get that and run for points. the cost of this membership is $20.
so for me personally its:
$90 SCCA membership (year)
$20 CSCC memership (year)
$30 to race (assuming I pre register online)

A question:
For CSCC, are all the numbers in that drop down menu fair game?
Also, I don't think I'm in any club so I should leave that part blank correct?

Well I just picked up a Sunday morning class at Mt. SAC from 8am-12:15pm that starts mid-February, so I'll be missing 3 months of autocross, which means this may be my last one for a while

So did I get this right that your first two weekend passes get refunded into the price of an annual when you finally pull the trigger?
I've got my suspension bushings 100% done. The accusump is mounted (but still needs to be plumbed) so I'm getting pretty close to being able to roll out.

Oil lines are done. I think I dodged the bullet on this one, I should have spun my bearings, but the motor runs great still. Still waiting on the rest of my oil since I only have 3 quarts in the system.
Yeah I think I'm going to drop out and autocross full time. How much does Mazda pay me when I take first place in CSP nationals? $300 or so?

Frejolee, yes, that is correct.
you can show up in Jan, pay the $15 weekend membership.
show up in Feb pay the $15 weekend membership.
then apply those receipt numbers to the full membership and receive $30 credit.
Vipers.... Kick ***!
but I run after lunch. are you going to take some time off, or show up before I get there?

I run right after lunch.
Jake, Seriously.... you gotta get out there. bring somethin!
Jason, I have a pretty havily built miata, and I still think your faster the me by a couple seconds. I compared my RX-8 times vs Bill. and compared my miata times vs. bill. I am ALWAYS 4-5 seconds behind. WTF!?!? makes me think the RX-8 was just as fast as this miata.... of course I'm still on the little 225's. we really need to move up tot he 255's, just waiting to burn the 225s up
Rob, what size are you goign to run?

I know if you take "X-Runs" they usually add them to your current run group. meaning you get 6 in a row. but I would think if you asked you couldget them in another session??? i duno. you should ask on the solo2 forum. thats a good question.
I personally dont see why not. (I dont see why they would make you work again just because you want to take them in another group).

Inregards to Xruns it looks like a yes so far. However, first come first serve of course.
On a side note. My new seats a sticky as heck! There is a side bolster adjuster that locks you into the seat. Can't wait for the weekend!
