sick of pistonheads
Alright so i'm sick of these stupid piston heads hating on rotarys everytime i bring them up. I dedicate this thread to all the people who are having the same issue as i am.
So i've been arguing the life of a rotory engine and it seems everyones conception is that they all magically die around 130k. I told him it all depends on the matenience of the car and he backlashes "it doesn't matter they just go to ****."
Is he right and should i admit defeat?!

ain't gonna say anything bad about the ineffecient piston motor, but I can tell you that 2 of my piston car (way back) motors blew up at 69k and the other at 80k.
I have friends with piston ricers and they respect the rotary and admit they have more issues with their cars. At Irwindale they think it's cool that I yell out ROTARY wen ever a rotary is up. So it's your company Phil, change them.

ive already replaced the motor in the civic, not even a month after i got it, yet the fb is still running strong. so that should prove a point.
i spent what i spent on my rx7 across a span of three years, in one month on the civic. thats 1800 dollars in one month, versus 1800 across 3 years. and that included paint, wheels, etc on the 7, it was 1800 just to get the civic running again, thats why i have rotary tattoed on me, not piston

Those piston heads are thinking RX7's with exotic mods.
My totally stock '87 TII had over 200,000 miles on it before I replaced the engine.
I've seen stock GSL-SE's with 300,000 miles on the original engine, and remember a Mazda mechanic at Puente Hills Mazda pointing at a GSL-SE on the rack and saying it had over 400,000 miles on the original engine.
It's all about staying after the oil changes and cooling system. I don't care what engine you're talking about, if you over tune it or over boost it or both, you're going to pop it.
GSL-SE engines are generally regarded as the one 13B engine where Mazda got it totally right. Why they changed it, who knows.
That guy that says 130,000 is maximum life is yet one more member of the stupid people club. Probably has really bad breath from talking out of his a-ss like that.

I know when you're wasting your time.
And this is one of those scenarios when you're going to waste a lot of time!
