well, I'm in kuwait now. I had my friend get my car out of the impound. it costed 1340.00. The car was dirty as hell, and runs like complete **** says my friend that drove it home. I'm hoping its just a vacuum or something that wont cost me hundreds of dollars to fix.

Right now it is in oceanside at my apartment. I know the car ran perfectly before they towed it. My friend that had his FD impounded also said they tried to give him my car instead of his. When they were driving my FD up to him, he said they were riding the clutch badly and stalling it every couple of seconds. Right now my wallet is pretty much empty because of this incident.

During the police report and appraisal of my car, they put some things on there that were not true. like instead of putting 2 rear Toyo Proxes tires, they put 4x Toyo Proxes Tires. They didn't put all the scuff marks and dents that it had, only the one on the door. Im thinking that when i get back from this deployment that i will hire a lawyer and get a new paint job and new tires from that tow yard. I hope they didn't blow my engine.

Anyways, I'm about to call up Fris at Lucky 7 and see if he can help me out by seeing what's up with the car and why its running like ****.

Im not reading through this thread to see all of the comments. But... Im confused was it you and your friend in 1 car or you and your friend in separate cars. If it were separate cars, your story makes sense. And your lucky you didnt go to jail. If you were both in your car... they would get you for exhibition of speed not racing. Exhibition of speed you can get for doing burn outs or heavy acceleration from a stop light. Which is a ticket - fine. However San Diego cops are terrible due to the amount of deaths associated with street racing in the past 10 years there. They even train the police to look for modified cars. I also know that you have to be present to get your car out of impound. And if you don't pay the fees...they can sell your car.

regardless. Get a lawyer. And good luck.

Jesse,

Did you ever get a chance to talk to an attorney prior to deployment? just wondering what he had to say if you did.

Given that you already paid a hefty impound fee and that the officer at first agreed that it was exhibition of speed (as you have proof it's written on the ticket and thus provide reasonable doubt). I would go with a public defender (to save money) and threaten to take it all the way to trial unless they give you a deal to plea to a lesser charge.

Screw it if you have big ***** you can opt not to take the deal and take it all the way to trial in hopes of winning due to the proof you have. The DA just might drop the charges all together if facing that scenario. Dropping charges > losing

me and my buddy mac full on drifted past a cop in jamul. this was in my blue car with headers and a straight pipe. we knew we where gonna get pulled over, so we just kept driving and pulled over and sure enough he pulled right behind us. told us to get out of the cars *"nicely though, and noticed that my car had a cage and both of us where sitting in bucket seats and wearing 5 points. he was pretty chill. asked us if we go out there often and what not, told me my car was wayyyyyyy to loud. and that where we where doing was dangerous and all that and that he could give us tickets for reckless driving and street racing and all kindsa other stuff. one of which was exihibition of speed . he said even peeling out could get you an exihibition of speed ticket. even revving your engine. anyway he let us off. just said becarefull and that other cops wouldnt be so leaniant.
