You'd better get a special power of attorney for this matter that way at least you can have someone get your car out for you. Your S-1 office should be able to hook you up with that pretty quick. Otherwise the tow yard will not release the car to your friend. Otherwise I can go there and say I'm your friend and take your car.

also write a letter giving your friend permission to take out your car and take it to notary public so he could stamp it with his seal, that really works good. i use to do that for customer.

My buddy just recently got his car impounded for "street racing" . His car is impounded for 30 days and a $1400 fine to go with it. He still has to go to court BTW

Yeah one guy on here said to tell the truth!!! Tell them that you have to red line a Rotary Engine to clear Carbon deposits and that what your friend was doing!!! I got out of a ticket in Vegas like that... I read about it and did it got pulled over and told the cop what I was doing. The cop told me that was true cause he had 3 RX7 before, So I didn't argue with him, But he let me off with a warning and told to slow down cause he could tell I had a header with out me poppin the hood

Damn this sucks..

Guess you never know when some "douchenozzle" cop will be around to pee in your shoe on any given day. Good luck getting it handled, sounds like you're gonna need it.

So I called the impound place and they said for 30 days it will be $1800...****!!..lol. I can pay it, its just a ridiculous amount.. $60 dollars a day is a bit much considering all its doing is sitting. I wonder what the judge has in store for me. I am going to call in tomorrow and ask to have it extended til summer next year. I hope the cop retires or something by then..lol. I noticed that my ticket had exhibition of speed before he crossed it out and put speed contest, I can thank that douche cop for that one.

heh just show that ticket to the judge, the cop couldn't even make up his mind what you were doing, that may help... and pushing it to next summer may help him not show up to court as well, he may just blow it off and say **** that it was last year... who knows
that sucks though man, probably should have ran, they can't keep up with that car.. ROFL

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking. I thought official government documents couldn't have errors on them. I hope he just forgets about it or feels some empathy on my behalf considering after this upcoming deployment i will have like 32 months in the middle east..lol.. or not...

i thought about it afterwards when he pulled us over.. i could have easily got away, but then again, i didn't think i was being pulled over for a speed contest.

The cool cop had called the douche cop in to look at our cars to see if they were illegally modified. When i popped open my hood, his eyes lit up like it was a donut. Then he asked me if i had any carb stickers or plates for my parts. I told him i had a K&N air filter lol, which i do. I then told him that i had an upgraded cooling system for oil and air. He was like "close your hood", then told me about how he had an Integra type r.

He reminded of a terminal lance corporal that got out all pissed off at the world and the usmc and took his new found power as a cop way to far. He has it coming to him, eventually his douche bag attitude will catch up to him.

If I were racing, he would of never saw me again. He was ok, but some other douche bag cop decided to show up and act tough. talking all this **** about how he was a Force Recon Marine, MP and NCIS guy.. i was like, i don't really care, I'm a Marine too and I don't try bragging. its just stupid.. if you were all that you would look like a ****** whale. If that cop wouldn't have showed up, i would have been able to go home with just a ticket.

Well, they said they have to hold it for 30 days. Im going to be deployed by then. so i will have a friend pick it up for me. He put on the ticket i was involved in a speed contest @ 70mph..lol. ok. well, we will see how this pans out. ****!
R3AL.CH1CK3N (Jesse?),

Dude you need to PM me. In february I got a bad ticket i was cited for:

Speed contest
over 100+ MPH (the cop stated 150+ MPH)
Illegal modifications
no proof of insurance (I do have insurance I just didn't have proof)

My car was not impounded nor was I arrested

The court dropped:
the 100+
the illegal mods (I have a single turbo with all the goodies)
the insurance

So I pleaded guilty to speed contest my fine was $595, no community service, got to keep my license without any probation. The only reason I had to plead guilty was because the "other guy" backed us into a corner and didn't give me any leverage.

Oh yeah the other guy got the 1,500 fine and 40 hrs community service. His car was out of state so smog laws didn't apply to him.

Ignorance will **** you in the *** on this one. PM your # so I can advise you the best that I can.

And yet totally different. One carries a much harsher penalty.

^^ Yeah,

Jesse update? did you speak to the attorney? If you did was he able to get your car out of impound?

FYI

Jesse and I spoke about the legality of impounding a car when you haven't been convited of the crime. That's something I'm not familiar with but I told him to ask the attorney about that. Hey it never hurts to ask.

Now if the lawyer can get the car out. The money that he saves in the impound fees will more than cover the attorney fees all the way to pre-trial. So basically he gets his car back and has a decent legal representation in the negotiation stage, the best part is he does not even have to be present for any of it. Basically he can go off to deployment and the attorney will take of it. Unless Jesse chooses to go to court, then at that point it does not make sense to hire an attorney at 2K a day.

If you plan on issuing a power of attorney make sure that you get it certified at a public notary.
I think your options of getting the FD out of the impound is still an open option under special circumstances before your deployment. get on this quick dude if you have not already.

Please update us on what the deal is???
