I can deal with that! Now that I am a boinger, at least for now, I run only synth in my cars.

BTW, is Teddy still here or Max? Is XS Engineering still in business? I am sure Dynamic is still doing awesome. It has been a long time since I was here last.

Anyone interested in karting?

It's great stuff and I use it. But if you're like most americans stuck on 3000 mile oil changes, I wouldn't pay so much for oil. I'd go non-synthetic. The manual recommends every 7500 and that's on cheap oil.

Check the 2nd generation section FAQ for more info and other options. If you still want to learn more then search the forums. You really should do that before asking such a basic question.

RP has been proven to damage the pistons in rotary engines

FWIW, I use it in my FB. I've never changed it in 6 yrs. It changes itself, if you know what I mean. I change the oil filter every 2500 miles. Thats it. I use 5-30. No problems. It does smell different from dino though at the tail pipe.

hah! In all seriousness, I don't know. I thought they went under, but I could be thinking of something else. If they're gone, who does RRR use for tuning now?

you really should search, but i'll give you my opinion.

I do use Royal Purple in all my cars. Its proven to gain a small hp amount. Its proven to last much longer than 3000 miles. I have seen several tests that showed Royal Purple working smoother, quieter, and handling more load than other oils. The only oil that could compete at its level in those tests is Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil, which has gone up in price as well for 1 qt. Redline and Idemitsu wasn't in any of those tests, so I can't speak for those. Royal Purple and Idemitsu is recommended by a lot of tuners such as racing beat, mazdaspeed, mazdatrix, etc. I, however, change the oil every 2500-3000 miles, just because I like it super clean with fresh oil. Also, I recommend going premix if you are going to use synthetic. Although, Royal Purple has clamed it is ok with the MOP but recommend using their premix for extra safety and cleaner burning. I used Royal Purple for a year with the MOP on my old 91 t2, and it ran fine. Right now, I am on Premix on my 89 t2, Royal Purple is expensive, but I don't do cheap on my cars. Its up to you though.

Use royal purple for serious racing. But for daily driving a honda or toyota or mazda's, whatever is one sale at "El Cheapo Auto Parts" and "Pep Boys" are good enough.

Are you kidding me, FYI in bangkok they sell more japanese **** than in the usa.. most of the factories for jap cars etc is here.. including the oil.. anyway have you heard of idemitsu?, i guess the answer is yes.. anyway for rotary engines, mazda japan recomends 3 oils 1 idemitsu 2 Racing energy 3 Sunoco..
