He won't be ready untill about January. Very small shop. Very nice guy. He's been here since '96. He has datalogic and wideband for tuning. He has a tight blue FC with a TD06. It has a trick dual oil cooler setup like a v-mount. I was quoted about $300 (tune only) to upgrade my tune from 10lbs to 15lbs and an entire day to do it and assuming no non-tune work being needed.

If you need a tune right away, there is Signal Auto in LA county. I'm not shure if XS Engineering is ready. I'll have to call them again.

OK, called XS and they don't know when their dyno will be hooked up as they are awaiting the people to do it and there is no estimate from them. So they may be ready in January but that is just a guess. I would imagine Neptunespeed is going throught he same thing.

^ Same city, pretty close but not the same section as their old shop (XS is now in Westminster). It's a few blocks from Beach/Warner and not far from the 405. It's in one of the small business plaza things that have like 10 companys per building.

OK, so I just spoke with Signal Auto Usa and found out that their tech that tuned the Endless FD is no longer there. The new tech has done some rotary's but I think they Specialize in Nissan (240, 350). I would have to go there and see if I would be comfortable with him.

I have not seen any work from Neptunespeed but he does have a trick *** FC that he built and tuned, so he is rotary savy.

This guy have a website? How about some proof of his reputation/tuning ability? (would like to see a "tuning resume" and see/hear people's cars he's tuned--whether or not the customer was satisfied). Sounds like there's still a pretty strong market for people who need to tune their rotaries in SoCA.

EDIt: Looks like he does have a website. Don't forget the "English" link on the bottom of the main page or just go here: http://www.neptunespeed.com/index-e.html

Last edited by mdpalmer; Dec 14, 2006 at 07:19 PM. Reason: Japanese website? (see english on bottom)

thanks for answering all the questions people had. i wasnt able to get on a computer for a little awhile untill now. yea he does have a blue FC. also if you guys know dekthai? i believe thats his username. he has the red FC. yoshiya from neptunespeed did a motor swap a TII turbo engine swap, previously i believe his car was NA. hopefully he can chime in here. he's defintely well priced compared to others out in the market, and yes close to XS engineering. i believe his dyno provides up to 500whp? i believe so nothing krazy for all you FD owners that can make over that amount. he's very good with power fc tuning. and like GORACER said, he does have datalogic and wideband tuning expeirence with these. if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me or call yoshiya himself, WARNING his english isnt too great but good enough =P haha.

*bump* for a great shop and owner.

Thanks for posting the info up trigger!

Yoshiya is truly a nice guy and knows his stuff when i comes to rotary. If you're in the area stop by and check it out. He worked on my jspec turbo swap and many other cars.

here's some snaps of his blue fc and my red from sevenstock.

before he was blue...

Yoshiya definately knows his rotaries and has one of the nicest FC's that I've ever seen. I actually decided to buy a vert after seeing his old one.

I found my mechanic!

Great shop and great mechanics. Thanks to TR1GGERx1 for this thread--I've found a mechanic for my FD that I can trust. Here's my write-up in the Good Guy, Bad Guy section: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...89#post6470389

Well since it looks like the Kan group tune won't happen in Jan, maybe the thread starter can find out if the shop wants to do a group tune?
