rotary reliability
rotary reliability
anyone know if rotary reliability in southern california, santa ana, is any good at engine rebuild, i have to get my coolant seals replaced, figured i should street port it while it apart.
Well, i just bought my car from a forum member that had 5300 into the motor from rotary reliability included new rotors and housings and street port that just blew an apex seal after 25k...not sure what to make of that...not even full boost.

I suggest that wasn't a R&R issue
My street ported rebuild has over 150,000 miles and still going strong. R&R's reputation for rebuilds has been one where he ships engines all over the world. Few better. Nick, the owner, has been rebuilding Wankles about as long as there has been Wankles.
Been going there for over 17 years. If I need work that is beyond my skill set, there is no other traditional shop I'd go to.

apex seals blowing aren't the builder's fault.

"yeah, I'd like to see them get an engine on my butt!"
That wouldn't be a goal of mine by any stretch. BUTT, if that's what you really want....

Im Getting My Re Swap There Right Now. Rebuilds From Them Seem Very Inexpesnive Because They Give You Brand New Internals As Oppposed To Just Opening The Block Part And Changing What Is Needed. Go In There And Look At What They Are Working On And You Will Want To Have Them Work On Your Car. Belive Me. Talk To Louie
my cars actually there right now getting a engine harness installed, solenoids checked and injectors cleaned. Everybody there has been good to me so i'll let you guys know how everything turns out.
i intern at RRR and the work they do is great. Chances are the people that bad mouth them probable have had a bad rotary experience. Heres an example of Nick's rep Nick just set a motor he built over to England and the guy he sent it to only has Nick build it. Even the guys over at Mazdatrix respect Nick's work. Also they built mine and its badass
well, there was an incident years ago with rotor-rooter. He was overcharged for a racing beat clutch. I'm sure you can find it if you do a search. I've personally had nothing but good experiences with RRR. I'd recommend them, but it's a good idea to find out if there were complaints as well.
I recently looked at a stock FD that was for sale with @ 130K on a RRR rebuild. The car was a daily driver.
It had some other relaibility mods like silicone vaccume hose, an aluminum AST upgraded radiator and the owner premixed. Owner had a compression check done at a mazda dealer. For some reason it was printed in KPA, but the tech note said the compression was like a near new engine.

What do new internals have to do with a great rebuild? New internals can fail with a shitty tuner. The rotary is a sloppy engine when it comes to specs anyways. And learn some engrish.
