Roll-over OMG we almost died....

So I am driving down the 101 between Tempelton and atascadero, I had just picked up my girl friend from her house in Paso Robles. Driving back I was in the "fast" lane doing about 70ish, and this van was in the "slow" lane. There was a tow truck putting a couples vehicles onto the back of it, at the moment the towtrucks bed was down, like a ramp. The van hits the ramp and launches sideways and rolls about 5 times RIGHT INFRONT of my FD. If it was not for the FD I would of not of been able to stop like I did and I would of hitten it as it rolled....
I guess that 7 can't lose.....?

rofl, i was so gonna kick your *** if you rolled the FD.

so this van is driving down the slow lane and hits a ramp of a car trailer that is off the right side of the road and rolls left across the freeway into the fast lane?

yeah... the tow-truck had its bed slanted ready to lift a car onto it. I guess the van was not paying attention and hit the bed and tumbled down the freeway, in both lanes, for like 5 rolls.

And yeah, the tow truck driver was hit slightly and was walking around with a limp the whole time helping the guy out of the van. The guy was hurt and extermly dazed. He had a huge bump over his eye, I think he had glass in it. The guys' airbags did NOT go off and as he was tumbling on the highway I actually saw him flopping around inside.

I recently had close call seeing car wipe-out right in front of me on the freeway ... It scares the **** out you when it's happening. I was just hpoing that I didn't sucked in his nightmare.

Check out the my post about it in the Kills section: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...&highlight=wrx

Yeah, it was definitly scary, but so so suprising I really did not believe it was happening. This was much much more then a wipe-out though, the van was completly totalled.

Well, see if you would of paid total attention to me when i was teaching you about evasive driving, you would have been able to video it at the same time it happened. Did you get any shots of it afterwards or did you forget your camera again.?

So, if you were going 70 mph and he was going slower, how would he end up in front of you. AND How can you see him stumble IF you were on the wheel trying to avoid him. have other questions too but Im too lazy to tyep it. yeah, I know how it goes...have seen Miami Vice and CSI.

Trust me, I wasn't rubber necking, more of noticing that there were 3 cars on the side of the road and 2 more CHP cars (you notice cop cars when you go through the police academy). Besides my peripheral vision is better than your 20/20 straight ahead vision
