Pools of oil

Ok. I know this has happened to at least a couple of guys. My oil cooler line fell and sat on my floor upright for a couple of minutes, and when I had come out, a pool of oil stained the garage floor. Is there anything that I can do to get it out? I mean its pretty big a this huge spot on my floor is really bothering me. Any help?

I use that Fast orange stuff meant for your hands. breaks up the oil real nice, just need to scrub it and repeat a few times.

If it is on concrete...you need to get it lifted off the concrete as soon as possible.
This might not sound all that environmentally friendly,...but it worked for me.
I used brake cleaner (and a brush) and it lifted the oil off. Keep in mind...this has to be done within a reasonable amount of time. Don't let the oil become baked in by the sun.

BTW...use a short brush w/ stiff plastic bristles.

Laquer thinner and a clean white rag works real well.

Clean as much of the oil as you can with laundry detergent (also designed to break up oil) and water. Then take the stain out with laquer thinner.

When I get oil on the ground I usually toss some kitty litter on it and absorbs it up pretty good. Then sweep it away. Then clean the remaining stain with brake/carb cleaner and a rag.

Castrol super clean or power purple and a nylon brush (like a broom) works wonders. flush with HOT water.
