Ok Guys.. for all of you that are coming down to SS8 that are in need of tuning, i just spoke to Steve about tuning for the week of SS8.... if there is anyone that is intrested in tuning, please post in this thread... he can tune anything that is needed just let us know ahead of time..

also, like we did last time, we want to tune on a dyno.. it was about $200 a person to go on the dyno. im going to see if there are any closer shops near where i live or near Irvine (city where SS8 is going to be held)

nothing is for sure yet but if there is enough intrest, i will get it set up...

im just gathering intrest for now but if it does go through, we will set it up like last time.. a deposit for reserving your spot and full payment before you go on the dyno.

this is not just tuning guy's, we had so much fun last time! i think steve tuning 12 car's made a combined RWHP of about 3500 rwhp!! hahah thats a good way of looking at it! i have a video of the previous tuning seccession but its on a 8mm tape... if i knew how to post it up, i would have!

as for the date's, i was thinking the friday and thursday before the show... or even wedensday if there is enough intrest... but time will tell...
10-5(??), 10-6, 10-7.... i think we will do 4 cars a day... its cutting it a little close but last time we got it done... well, sort of. (we were all dead )

no, thats the dyno time.... nothing is set right now but thats what the price was per person on the dyno.... i have not set anything but its around $200 for the dyno + Steve's tuning price.... and i belive he can tune the microtech but will have to make sure.

last time, he tuned the PFC, AEM EMS, and Hateck.....

 

steve street tunes cars in 4th gear... for 3rd gen's that means 145mph... and my car alone made 25-30 pulls on the dyno in 2 hours... thats going to 145mph 20-25 times... its up to you but its not safe... i think the $200 spent on the dyno is worth every cent for the safety it provides....

 

Anyone have an average of how much he charges per hour? I should have my car tuned by me and a friend so it won't be amazing but it should already have a decent tune.

 

steve's fee per person is $350... that includes him flying out and hotel and everything.... he does not charge by the hour.. some cars take longer and some take shorter... we averaged 2 hours a car... thats more than enough time for tuning since the cars are prepped before you go on the dyno. as for the dyno, im estimating it at $200 a person... last time it was $2800-2900 to rent the dyno for 3 day's... with 4 people a day, it took 3 days and came out to an even $200 a person....

if anyone has questions or concern's, they could contact me via pm and i will explain everything.... also, since i was strapping the cars all three day's and have experience with the tuning day's ill help out anyone who needs it in order to have everything ready....

and there are a few requirements prior to having your car on the dyno. in addition, we will need your mod's list at least a week before if Steve comes Down

This place has a dyno and isn't too far away from Mada HQ in Irvine (about 7 miles) - we did a dyno day there not too long ago.

 

thanks!! the last time we did it, we were a block away from R&R rotary... those guy's came down and spent some time with us!! great bunch of people... if your intrested in the tuning, let me know. as for the dyno, we are working on something special but even if it doesnt come through, dont worry guy's, i have more than enough shops to accomidate us!

Yeah I'm thinking about it pretty hard at the moment.. I think a PowerFC might be in my future and I'd like to make sure it's tuned right. Running a M2 Stage-3 at the moment...

thats good to hear... last time its $550 but this time, it might be around the same or cheaper! thats an unbeatable price for a tuner like Steve Kan.... the only other tuners that come close to that in this area is XS and ill post their number if anyone wants to call them... its $75 for a pre inspection.. then they charge for the strapping (lets just say $30) then, its $200 an hour! lets say about 2 hours... so thats 400+75+30=505.... and thats not all! then if they did anything extra, your paying for it. and dont expect everything to work!!

thats if it takes 2 hours...

im not going to even start collecting deposits til the end of the month and once i talk to Steve... were trying to get something special planned out with Steve and Berney... but we will see how it all goes down

 

Can I come just to visit? I pretty much only have reliability mods and a stock ecu, so nothing to tune. But I'd like to watch, it sounds interesting.
