i may just give it one more shot but i have decided i am going to push more towards just simple engine building with light vehicle modifications as a side. meaning more international sales, i am going to focus on getting more customers from all around the world versus local business. this does not exclude full builds but they will no longer carry a cheap price tag.

but

i am also going to focus more on rebuilding ALL series of engines including 12A, old school 13B and renesis. this includes more extreme builds like bridges, PP and semi PP engines up to and beyond 1000whp. i also will add the new coolant seal savers/coolant seal sets for minimal charges to applicable 13B engines with iron placed coolant seals. this means i will find ways of building back up even completely thrashed engines, just about anything rotary powered.

issue i have with business is dealing with the 25+ year old cars and the issues that the cars themselves present, including too much time spent fixing the associated issues with the cars, not nearly the engines i build. ie no more generous figures in building a car up for less than adequate budgets on my end. i'm beyond tired of getting quoted to build a car for when it arrives on the truck i see a stripped shell with pages of more items that need to be addressed which were also undisclosed prior.

i will do my best to setup shipping to and from but a business address is required to ship directly outside of a local city airport depot.

i also now sell Goopy seals and products as a distributor for them on the west coast, so if anyone needs anything from them let me know.

as an aside i now no longer give a **** about local drama. i will continue to do my job as i have for the 8 years prior to moving, if you don't like how i run the business then you are free to find someone else. just building engines means downtime will be less so jobs will come and go much quicker, in general it takes less than a week to build an engine, about 1.5 weeks to build an engine and R+R it taking up to 2 or more weeks if issues arise within the car itself that were not disclosed prior and up to 1 month + on full builds. seeing those figures you now see why i prefer just to build engines and forget about the rest and leave that to the end-user.

engines beyond stage 2(streetport and a few bolt ons) will also no longer carry a warranty. turbo engines will also no longer carry atkins seals as standard, they will be Goopy racing or Rotary aviation seals and base prices for turbo engines will reflect this change.

vehicles will carry a $20 per day storage fee if not picked up/paid for within 2 weeks of completion. special ordered parts will carry a 20% restocking fee.

it's all out or get out for me right now, i'm looking to expand or shut down and move on with my life. no more stagnance working on tight budgets giving away services for free. i know my abilities and i no longer care to give away my expertise while barely scraping by myself, believe me i do not like to complain.

as of now i have about 1 month of work to complete before i have the shop 100% empty which is my goal, to start fresh. i also will be more adamate about giving updates and documenting builds, i have uploaded dozens of pictures to my album of some projects from the last year.

as of now and in the future i still plan on doing everything 100% by yours truly for a more direct relationship between builder and customer. like many businesses i have grown to despise current business practices which make you feel like a number versus a respected supporter, answered by a machine while being charged for inadequate services or no contact at all.

this also includes my intent on building an affordable 4 rotor 26B engine platform and alternate fueled vehicles as well as more personal built engine products.

Hey guys, I'm getting the car back on the road after several years of sitting in the garage hen another garage......
I'm in Modesto CA and need some work done. Namely I have a FPD and the recall kit I want installed and I'd would be nice to have a once over done before I start driving it. Who is left in Norcal? I was going to have Karak do it a few years ago but then I mothballed the car and I don't know where he is anymore.

^Karack is now known as RotaryEvolution.

closes to you is:
Rick's Rotary Performance in Pleasanton

you can also try:
Rotorsport in Santa Clara
Mr. Mazda in Campbell
PR Motorsports in Hayward

All should be fine for working on stock components.

I'll have to call Rick again. He was my go to guy but he hasn't seen the car in 6 years. He did the rebuild that is in the car now and leaks like crazy. He's good but $$$

check into one of the few pan braces like Banzai's, helps alleviate oil pan leaks that are inevitable.

Also interested in some shops around the Sacramento area. heard of Evil Genius Racing, but no one really has any reviews about them.

I can give some input into Evil Genius Racing. They are really cool guys--one of the guys actually is one of the heads of the 24 Hour of LeMons race They are basically a bunch of nerdy engineers who also love racing. Good dudes, would recommend--they do a lot of weird stuff though, so they may or may not be able to help you! However great great great guys worth talking to at least, and if they can't help you they may be able to point you in the right direction. I am considering buying a LeMons FB from them

I may have a stock spare from a 94 but I have to make sure I still have it. I am in Oregon but can ship to you at your expense. shouldn't cost too much.

How much are you willing to pay for the spare?

It seems like I'm having some issues right now with Paul @ Rotorsport.

Even though I've been a customer of his for 5 years, he's blowing me off on some of the work being done to my car.

It's been there since November and I just called today and Judy the receptionist said to me:

"If he wants his car he can come pick it up. I haven't started."

All I am getting done is polyurethane busing install, removal of AC Condenser, and Pulley kit install. This should not take more than 10-13hours.

Is there any reputable rotary shop that can do this particular task that is near Santa Clara (I may need some engine work done also)?

Huh. Maybe he's backed up right now? It's been three weeks and he still hasn't checked upon my fuel leak (I'm thinking FPD? issue)--not even to diagnose it. Although the fact that you've had it there since November is bad. I'm not sure what's up with him right now, I'm sorry you've been getting treated the way you have too--been going to Paul for a few years and this is a first for me too.

pretty sure they just moved recently so maybe they're still getting acclimated and doing "catch up" still.

it's easy to think you have time to do some smaller jobs until a problem arises and everything else is put on hold.

best thing would be either pick up the car and bring it back when he can begin work, sit on it and wait until he finishes or find another shop like you are doing if it is your daily car. if it is your daily car hopefully he knew it was. obviously sounds like they are backed up and it's easy to think they don't care until you're in their shoes, figure out which of the above suits you best.

Don't really know how backed up he is but he moved quite a while ago.

I believe it was last April so that's why I've been holding it off until November.

There was a CYM R1 and VR R1 there also. Mine is the BB R1 so there's all 3 colors there for 93s.

Daily driver is a R35... FD is a garage queen.

Damn you DD an R35? I don't suppose you live right on Fell near Fell/Masonic? Haha. I see one near this area from time to time.

Also I need to bug Paul at Rotorsport too--need to see where he's at with things. I dropped off my car there because I think the FPD is failing, but no word yet.

yeah my R35 is a DD for now since it's cold (peanut butter scooter time) and I sold my RX8.

And I live in the peninsula (San Carlos) now.

I DD's my FD for 1 year and put 20K miles on it.

I'm going to call Rotorsport again tomorrow to see what the status is again. They apparently refuse to tell me anything.

Hm, the line that I keep getting from Judy is the same, "Oh sorry, Paul hasn't gotten to it yet, we'll give you a call once he does!"

I want to peanut butter scooter time! Wouldn't be bad, living in SF. Anyway let me know what Rotorsport says, I think I may just have to pull it out of there sooner than later if it's just going to sit around.
