you and me had similar problems, plowing through the turns. having good sticky tires helps a lot, tire pressure also affects how the tires stick as well. after tires there is suspension, stock suspension has a lot of sway, run stiffer shocks and lower the car some and poly suspension bushings will all cure most of the sway problems.
i plan on putting some AGX's on and dropping the car 1-1 1/2" before the next event, running the proper tire pressure (38 in front and 34-35 in the rear) and installing polyeurethane bushings all around, hopefully installing some rear toe eliminators as well.

That was a pretty good video Kenji. I'm glad to see that you were getting better as the day went along. You should be doing really good by the next AutoX.

Just remember that faster isn't always better. Going into a turn too fast can induce understeer on turn-in and usually an RX-7 will oversteer on corner exit if you plow through a corner. I remember I did that before I got my DTSS eliminator bushings and I would spin out at least once at every autocross I went to. For your first run, drive very conservatively and try to get an idea of how much you should brake for each turn, then ramp up the speed as much as you can over your next two or three runs. That looked like a good course. Did you guys get to do any fun runs?

I have a ways to go to catch the Z06's... thinking of doing shocks, front sway bar, exhaust and allignment, all of which will still keep me in the stock class.
It's good to see kids running their cars fast (LEGALLY) at auto-x and track events instead of on the streets. On a sad note though, a family we were pretty close to just lost their 20 yr. old daughter to a drunk 20 yr. old blowing through a red light in Roseville Sat. night... Courtney's life ended because someone CHOSE to drink and drive. We can't even imagine what her family is going through now.
My advice for anyone is: if you have the urge to run your car like it was designed to run (and most of us do..), save it for the track, and NEVER drive after drinking!
