maybe a bbq first then a cruise cause it would take about 3 hour round trip to from pena adobe. just a thought or we can go to the in and out that way people dont have to worry about bringing food and then one person gets shafted with the cooking.
Yeah this is the first time since I have originally signed up that I have a different Avatar.
All because Phoniex7 and a couple of others were saying that the mods were like ***** and enforcers instead of being moderators... so I decided that an Agent was the best kind of enforcer there was in the virtual world.
^^ Yo Nick! I tried the Type II Seat from F1Spec and it fit great! I'm heading to their shop next Saturday to test fit it on the car (gotta check to see if I fit with a helmet!) Thanks again for the info...
scary huh?

Yeah I was freaking out for a min.
The owners didn't take my bid on the location in Rohnert Park, so I am gonna sit on it for another month (another mortgage payment or two for them) and see if they get hungry with the building just sitting there.
Here is mine about a two weeks ago, before clear coating:

after 3 layers of hand rubbed Ultra clear Urethane:

Tape and paper off, starting to put it all back together,
Door handle back in with new handle gasket

And just about 15 minutes ago (starting to be re-assembled):

all the windows that were the OEM Mazda clear or Mazda OEM blue tinted have been replaced with the proper factory bronze tinted glass,
Mind you it had no interior or engine or anything at all when I painted it

Yeah I'm going to attempt to paint my datsun myself....it seems that shops only let me down. I've found too many flaws on my car to justify what I spent on paint and body work. My test dummy car is going to be my $800 bmw
And your car looks really nice. You did all that yourself?

When I got it, it was in very very sad condition. The 10thAE paint always sucked, but the previous owners had sanded down some of it, then primered with rattle can primer, then let it rust; so it was even worse. 90% of the drivetrain was missing, and a good 75% of the interior was missing or just wrong (like it had a grey B pillars and roof- but the sunroof panel headliner was still black). The front fenders had so much bondo in them that they cracked when I first removed them and dumped them in the garbage can.
So it got new fenders, almost all the bondo is gone (except for a little filling in some minor door dings and some minor damage that the last owners did to the rear passengers side when they were trying to fill in the holes for the emblems).
Damn....I hope you got that car for near free then hahaha the 10AE I sold awhile back was original save the wheels and steering wheel and it was pretty nice with no bondo...just some shitty paint before I sanded it and had a friend paint it.
I know if the long run it will cost more restore this thing than just buy a running one, but I know the motor will be like new, the brakes and clutch will be new, the suspension will be new, a lot of the trim will be new, the paint will be new... so driving it will be simular to a new car, no one with 80K on it.
And as far as the bondo, I know there is a little, but I have seen cars come from the factory with a whole layer of bondo on doors, under even the factory primer... so I think it is pretty inescapable.
I have some fugly pipes that will bolt right up to an ebay core. $20 lol. They are aluminum that's been mig welded so it's not pretty. I put down 300 rwhp @ 11 psi (It dropped off to 11 psi so the piping leaks anything higher) Has a flange for a greddy bov. This is only if you're flat broke and desperate lol
