You should PM me or something next time you go to RPM, I can practically walk there from the house.

I converted one of my FD racks to manual, it's really not that hard. Maval will do it, but I think it's $200+. I just used the $ towards new tie rod ends and boot covers, etc. instead of paying someone else to do it.

through ebay actually, some weird little company in south carolina. i called there shop and talked to them this morning. they order cores from a supplier, rebuild em ,and send em out, with a 1 year 12k warranty.

if you look up rx7 steering rack on ebay it's the only place that has manual racks

Putting a bid in on the old Yard Birds building in RP next week.

Thought it was $20 for 15 minutes, but the last time my daughter and I went it was only like $45 for two races for each of us (but we brought our own helmets and stuff too).

Pretty stoked right now.

I have been fixing up and painting the 88 10thAE, and when got the UC (Crystal White) I mixed in some white phosphorescent powder to the paint. Well, I finally got around to shoot the clear coat this afternoon on the body, and then when I finished cleaning up and turned the lights out... going in for the night, I noticed that all the white was glowing from the light from just the florescent tubes that had been on it.

Don't get me wrong... this is not a "Repo Man" glow... just a hint of a whitish glow with no lights on. I have to go buy a couple of Black light tubes and see how much it will really glow.

I had forgotten all about that I mixed the powder in with the paint until then. And it was finally warm enough this afternoon to spray the clear and not worry about runs or flash time, so the clear actually came out very smooth and very glossy.

Gotta love it when every thing starts coming together.

Nice! I can't wait to see the thing of beauty when its all said and done. I am sure it will look great.

It really does feel great when it all comes together, that is for sure.

Mark be sure to let me know (even months/years from now ) if you need a hand with setting up/wiring up the place or any such things. (everything from a nice security system to computer / wifi governor controls on the karts. ) though im sure you can take care of such things you might have better things to do. Besides I owe you a few favors at least with the amount of 2nd gen material I read from your posts haha

Ive been going back and fourth but I am pretty sure I was going to go for the house and for now while I have no girlfriend or time to be home rent out other rooms to people. Have them help me pay the house off (and hopefully not trash the place haha) while I work my *** off for years to come.
your right brian, its marin county that is so over priced, and its barley getting affected by the market, its to bad you couldnt come more east, the vacaville, farifeild, winters and dixion areas are preaty cheap but you would have a commute :/ and ya a house would definetly be the better long term investment, especialy since they would have a higher resale value than a condo. just keep savin there are gonna be even better deals this year since so many more peoples ARM's are being ajusted in a few months.

Haha yeah something like that...

I wasn't on Naders last run... I well have been out of the RX-7 game for a while now.. I was waiting to get my own place before I picked up another. I just had too many heart broken moments where I spent all this time making it all pretty just to have someone bash the door in, hit the bumpers while parallel parking or what have you..
(it was on the street and I live next door to a grade school. Parents on their cell phones.... you know haha)

I decided it was for the best to not build up anymore projects like that until I get my own little garage to store them.

Though I would still be up for coming out with you guys wherever.. I am just not very fast in my Jeep or Truck..

I just keep telling myself that... Save save save... I have thought about trying to buy even further north.. Currently looking at Petaluma, but Cotati or RP might be an option as well. The further I get of course the further I would like a cheapie motorcycle to get to work on nice days haha.

I tried too; tonight, but neither my phone or camera can take something that dark. I need to find something that does a real long exposure.

At night looking at it from the open garage door, you can just make out the glowing shape in the dark, pretty good as your eyes adjust, but when you get up real close (like less than a foot away); it almost looks like stars glowing in the paint, like if you looked up at the night sky... but it is in the paint.

With the lights on, or in daylight, it just looks like a regular UC (Crystal White) colored 10thAE with a very shiny clear coat on it.

It is pretty cool; if I do say so myself. I can't wait to get this car on the road and show it off now.

I have seen your 10thAE, remember I got my 10thAE wheels from you. And I am sure that people will think mine is bastardized now too since it glows in the dark and has clear coat on the paint (I just couldn't paint the whole car and not put on a good coat of Urethane to protect it... I just don't care if people think I bastardized it because of clear coat and a little phosphorus powder).

The real thing is who gives a crap what people think of the car... 99% of people don't even take care of the car or any car properly. People always gave me crap for my cars, 5 different color FD for instance.. now its looking pretty (well mike has it now... ) Same goes for my FC, it was in pretty rough shape for a while.. I took care of the mechanics first and made it pretty later.

I always just shrugged my shoulder and laughed it off. If anyone cares they can see the effort behind it, at least that is my outlook.
