So, does anyone know what it means when you hear a horrific metallic noise from your engine bay and then have smoke enter your cabin? I'm pretty sure I just lost my motor earlier today...so yeah, bye bye FC.

kevin, rotary engines usually die silently so unless a big chunk of metal got in there i don't think it is the engine you should be looking at as the cause of failure. probably an accessory like a pulley or alt or possibly the Scharger.

 

Could have been the supercharger, it was a really shitty noise, sounded like a dying A/C compressor except about a million times worse. I know it wasn't a pulley or any of the stock accessories, because I checked them when I pulled over. When I coasted off the freeway, I noticed the engine temp was reading a little high, about 5 degrees C higher than I've ever seen...I guess I'll have to tow the car home and take a good look at it. If it's the supercharger, I'm going to be more bummed than if it was the engine, to tell the truth.

 

So what shall I bring then? I can bring the charcoal and fluid if no one else is going to? Also I can bring along some Greeta's (sesame-soy) marinade if anyone wants to try some of that (its pretty good on burgers). Also- directions? I think I could find some but I'd rather not show up at one Elk Grove park while you guys are all at another...

 

4: Merge onto I-80 E via the ramp on the LEFT toward SACRAMENTO. 9.2 miles

no idea what to bring, there is shopping centers nearby so we can pickup what we need after we figure it out.
