I would totally rock a red Miata NA on the streets. In fact, I want one! I do know that I'd look pretty gay in it though
But theres not many cheap options for such a small, light sports car; or at least not a "modern day" car. Its either... the Miata or the Elise. And I can't afford an Elise. Well technically I can't afford a Miata either, but I'm closer to affording it.

he he he.... true.
well in stock form I think they are uber ghey. but after some wheels and lowering they look much better! then if you happen to do anything else to pimp it out its just that much better. I have seem some pretty wicked looking miatas.

P.S. Or pull a Lucky7 and throw a rotary in it.
My car's finally up and running with the accusump. I ended up digging a lot deeper into it than I intended so it took a while. Someone who's an autocross regular want to PM me some digits so I can ask a few questions or plan to meet up?
No love for the LSx swap? ;-)

Motor is going in tomorrow! But with one snag, the plastic drain plug on my CSF radiator is trashed. Could I just put a bolt in its place? Where can I get a replacement drain plug?
Hiya fellas, I just threw down for my points card so I could join CASOC.
#311.
I'm hoping to be out there May 3rd. Frankly, I'd really rather get in on a couple practice days because I mostly need wheel time but it looks like you have to watch those like a hawk. Should I even try for the one on May 2nd?
Anything I need to do in advance for time-only or x-runs? Did we ever figure out whether passengers are allowed in those categories? (I'll definitely be looking for pointers out there).

check out the forums at www.solo2.com, that's where they announce practices. I've been to one so far, it was fun as hell! That's was also where my last motor gave up the ghost.

a practice is the best seat tim to $ ratio you can get.... they can help a lot!
the down side is you never teach yoruself to be fast in 3 laps... you know you have all day t get fast.
but anyways, yeah try to get in. I always recomend practice days if not, dont worr about it, just come out to the race day. :-)
yes you can have a passenger if you run X runs or Time only runs. as long as they are over 12 years old.

You trying for it Johnson? Like I said, I talked to the guys at GRA yesterday morning and there were still spots open for the practice day. Mail them checks y'all. Rotary boys are always saying they want a shot at taking down the vette guys. Well here it is.
Me? I've got a lot to learn from both camps.

I'm in on the practice day for the 2nd. Anyone else registered for that? Rob, are you going to be around that day in case I break and need to call in a favor with that new tow vehicle of yours?
What do folks do with their toolboxes/fluids/spare parts while you're out running around? I've got an EZ-up and I'll bring a cooler of food/water. Should I worry about trying a couple sway bar setups or just focus on driving the car?
I'm assuming I'll put on the RA1s but leave brake pads as my street version. Anything else to do the the vehicle in prep? General tech inspection looks like it should be fine.

I'll be home and if not just call me. I'll come and rescue you. For tools just bring the basics ( jack, jack stands, wrenches, etc, etc). Also bring lots of water and food for you. Take it easy for the first few laps to get the hang of your car. I my come by and hangout with you. Give me a call if you need anything.
Thanks Robert
