LOL wow Jen there really isn't any point in explaining the process to you at all is there. CA laws are CA laws but in my case the laws and regulations regarding the registration on the 2002 Or older NISSAN GTR or any XXXIX car does not apply. Mexico currently allows Vehicles from and up to 2002 to be imported and registered in B.C. Cali.
I will not be trying nor attempting to register the NISSAN XX XX here in Cali.

Not any time soon as i mentioned, I would like to set aside a slush fund of 45k to 55k toward the r34 and then deal with having to get it over here to North America.
Jen the funny thing is that we live so close to Mexico yet we never take advantage of their system. Unlike the Mexican do of our system. The fact is that it is very reasonable to obtain a Mexican drivers license and cheap to register a vehicle it's a joke.

Okay Jen you win!!!! The only issue I can see having in driving the car here is maybe running into a CHP officer who is just out to F me over and over and over.

You do know that Canadians do driver their Vehicles which are registered in Canada into US on a daily basis right and work in US while driving their cars into and all around US. OR IS your point the fact that it is a "NISSAN GTR". I hate to break the news to you Jen but there are Hundreds of cars with Higher value $$$$ being driven here in USA on A daily Basis. OPEN your eyes to the truth and take the blinders off Jen.

QFT......I actually had a guy working here with me that had a slammed Civic Hatch with rims, exhaust, intake, limo tint all around, and a supercharger slapped on. He was Canadian and was running Canadian plates. He rolled right by cops all day long and never got pulled over......and this was right in the middle of MiraMesa (Honda ricer street racer capital of S.D.)and he was Asian on top of that. Even when his car was stolen and then found by the cops as part of a sting operation on some thieves, the cops didn't say a damn thing about the Canadian plates. Part of the reason why is that like Mikey, the guy wasn't a tool and a ***** to the cops and wasn't out doing stupid stuff in residential areas.

I almost had to call S.W.A.T. in... lol.

Honestly Mike, and this is not a back-handed comment; if you feel that you have the means and the knowledge to swing the GT-R, I have faith. You would have to know the ins/outs of this type of situation in order for you to be good at what you do. With that said, I'll want your help too buddy! In my instance, I don't care if my 34 body has ******* Ford badges on it. Regardless, if I drove it; I'd just rock my uniform and call "professional courtesy" on the CHP.

Archie----I hear you loud and clear!!!!--- the interesting thing is that I can honestly say that I don't know anybody special in Mexico who will Swing me a deal and I will not be inventing a new loophole or anything special. Currently In BAJA CALIFORNIA Mexico they are allowing up to 2002 vehicles to be imported into Mexico for legal registration. You just need to pay customs duty like every thing else you would bring in from overseas.... the only gray area will be me taking the DMV test and failing the written exam in TJ for my license.(international). I would have to study for it.!!!!
Archie sell me the damn D_shape thing or just let me rock it for the 7stock. OH fell rent it to me ****

The point is to not beat around the bush and dance around any LOOPHOLE!!!
It may seem Like a big hassle to get the car registered and obtain A BC Mexico license, But it is a lot simpler then having to dance around the issue here in Cali.
Im not by all means making this an all rx7 meet...I don't want that...I do plan on telling the different groups to at least give a $2 donation to help cover the cost of food and drinks...I already have reagle beagle in on it with him and the people he knows as well as IMG, Chris already started a thread in the SDDRIFT forum about this even taking place on the 26th...the only thing were waiting for is for a thread here on the west coast...

Great Job teddy---- i think we should hold off on the thread until this weekend and finallize our intentions/idea/direction on this BBQ/gathering/Event/meet/show. As far as charging a $2.00 fee for food and drinks, IMO we should waive it for this time. I Don't wish to come off as a PAY meet or gathering at all. Some times it's worth testing the water first before doing anything concrete.

Besides it will be great to have all types of different car clubs show up with out having to pay to gather, even if it's 2 buck!!!!!!. Oh hell I'll just write it off anyways as taxes. Plus we are going to have better results if we make it a pot luck and bring a chair and a smile event.
How interesting

it really has nothing to do with a car being brought into the states with other countries plates. it has nothing to do with modified cars being here. it has nothing to do with the price tag of the car or anything along those lines.

what none of you are listening to me say is that the nissan skyline+the STATE OF CALIFORNIA= no way no how.

find me a motor-ex r33......please id like to see one.

find me one of the skylines that was registered in mexico by someone living here in their name.

you wont be able to....you know why .....they have all be crushed. yes they went down to mexico or where ever these cars were being stored. took them and crushed them. why? because guess what someone had the same idea mikey did.

find me someone that has a motor-ex r34 and tell me how much they paid to keep it......i personally know someone with one.....and i know how much he paid to keep it. your better off buying an r35 gtr. but then again you think its a glorified g with a glorified vq35 motor in it so w/e

Okay coo sound like a plan...I was just offering that as a susggestion to help cover the cost of food and drinks since your going out of your way to pay for everything...

Other then that yeah lets hold off on starting a thread, the list is growing very rapidly so the sooner the better...We should post the exact address, photos, and what to expect...
