Psssh your 2800 pounds ought to walk away from me! Besides, I was 2 for 4. 4th gear is your best friend in your car. I'm interested to see how it does in the twisties against you.
What I really want is to get my FD back up and back out that way.

How does she handle on the twisteeeeeees????
yeah everybody knows that already what date are you looking at to do this? Im thinking July 19th or the 26th gives enough time to spread the word and make this happen...My brother is going to spread the word on the san diego drift forum...im going to spread the word to IMG, schools has her group, and we could start a thread here on the forum...

It would be very nice to see the other clubs roll out and make this a open BBQ meet.
Lets just say that he walked all over me in the STI. Something about super duper center diff adjustments. Basically he didn't understeer where I did. That's OK though because I got to spray rocks all over his face.
Oh yeah....the damn STI IS broken in. We put 300 miles on it on Sunday alone and half of those were hard miles. Idyllwild and Mountain Center FTW

Against the EVO, it was really a toss up. Dave is in serious need of new tires. They have probably 3-4/32nds of tread left. His car did tend to understeer more than mine, but I think new rubber would help 90%. I've become a definite believer in AWD.
Dave and I went to Idyllwild this past Sunday. It handled nearly flawlessly and with much less understeer than I had thought there would be. I set my car to Sport# and had the diff completely open (35/65 rear bias).

Idyllwild is awesome. Having a passenger to talk to on the way up and to enjoy the insane speeds would be nice. Maybe Teddy will want to ride along next time. Mike, if you want help with the clutch, let me know.
We definitely need to hit Mountain Center and Idyllwild up.

Velocity: P-6.5 / I-8
Scenery: P-8 / I-8
Overall value: P-8 / I-9.5
We regularly were over 70-80mph and cornering at 50-60+. It's pretty technical with a good mix of 90/180 degree turns. Some excellent long stretches to gain speed and then utilize your brakes. I would say Idyllwild is a mix of East Grade and South Grade, but 3x longer. I believe it's 37 miles long. Some traffic doesn't realize to utilize the turn-offs, but that happens. Dave and I were pushing this C6 HARD! There was this Lexus SUV that was absolutely bombing up the backside of the C6 too. I guess he lived up there, but man; could he drive the hell out of that thing!
As far as the pot luck goes is what ever people want or would like to bring. Since I will be hosting, I'll ask that you bring lawn chairs and a smile. Ready to make new friends and connection.
I'll provide ice coolers with drinks and BBQ grill and tables and such!!!! really the only thing cool and ideal about this place that Teddy took notice of is the fact that on the weekends there is no body around and the parking lots is wide open.
If you guys want to get things rolling let me know and start up a OFFICial THREAD.

also higher velocity and both overall dead even on scenery 8. Cause palomar is pretty to look at!!!!!IMO
Part of what made Idyllwild technical was that we were on 3 different types of surfaces (old smooth asphalt, brand new rock gravel asphalt, and new smooth asphalt). Very different handling characteristics at the limit for each one.
One thing that Archie probably didn't illustrate very well was the difference in traffic. It was pretty damn packed up there. I'd recommend going during the week or late on Sunday just because of traffic up there.
