Thumbs up And if for some unknown reason I don't get the RX500, I think I'll go Wankle Green

with this one, especially if they ever make a convertible version.

This just in:

HIROSHIMA, Japan — Sources close to Mazda told Inside Line today that the next Mazda RX-7 is still in the works. Inside Line has also learned that a new Mazda RX-8 is also in the works and is expected to be called the Mazda RX-9.

Convert like this?

"Mazda Motor Corporation held its annual ceremony marking the first product shipment of the year at the company's cargo dock near its headquarters in Hiroshima. Hisakazu Imaki, Mazda's representative director, president and CEO, together with other Mazda senior executive officers and employees lead the parade in a White Convertible RX-8! However, don't get your hopes up yet, this RX-8 is a one off Series-I, created to be used as a parade car for events in the Hiroshima area for Mazda.
Update: This is a one-off creation used for Hiroshima-home town events that Mazda participates in. The car has no plans of being put into production."

That would do it. Maybe that is part of the upcoming RX9 family?

nah, them cars are not in my want-to-have list. In fact, IMHO, mazda fucked up in their new design. look at all the CX, RX-8, miata and 6 series. They all have the same shape.

RX-500 was touted at the tokyo auto show to have a production version of the 12A found in the first generation Rx7. In reality it had a race prepped 10A from the familia racing program.
