now i know...mazdatrix is shady from my dealings with them....i didnt concent to $9.50 for shipping on a key....if i would have known shipping cost that much i wouldnt have bought it from them seeing as how i could have got it on ebay for $26.50 shipped and it would have helped my ebay score also....

Haha. What the hell you arguing with Mazdatrix anyways? Not like you're going to teach them anything new on rotaries.
And if you don't know who Dave is at Mazdatrix, then I really wouldn't be saying anything bad about him.

Every company gets a bad day of customer service.

I've had good luck withthem over the years. Only ever had one issue, andit was similar to this:

I neededa new Thermal Reactor for my SA-Cali. They advertise on their used parts list that they are generally $50.

I called and asked after one for my specific year (1980, cali emissions).

$500, they said.

WTF, I said.

Only one left, and they're getting rare, they said.

Gonna be the only one left for a while, at that price, I said. And hung up, muttering about "extortion."

I've been buying from them, via phone, via web, and in person, for about 14 years (oldest receipt in my book is from 5/22/05); only time I ever had a bad experience.

I got into it with both the older guys about my sport model. They tried to tell me sport models didnt come with sunroofs from the factory. They were dead set on their knowledge and told me I didn't have a sport and I was 100% wrong.........UNTIL I SHOWED THEM THE WINDOW STICKER.............They were speechless I just smiled.

yeah my in person experience with them was a little rude. finishline was with me as well. i went in there with a list of part numbers for a front cover reseal. old white dude asked what type of front cover it was for the teflon ring and seal. i said i had not removed it yet. then he says well what are you doing here then? i was like...wtf? im getting all the related gaskets and seals you douche. not so pleasent experience

Especially in this economy businesses should be doing whatever it takes to bring in more customers...not argue with them and leave them hanging in the front..and this wasn't over some $5 part either it was a $400 part...Just because of hearing this I'll find my crap elsewhere. I've had no issues with them, but everything I've bought was easy to find and all online, so no issues...but hearing a friend get left high and dry like that when he had $400 in hand ready to buy some part...screw that.

Not taking sides here but shipping a box to AZ is at least $8 dollars. They could have stuffed it in an envelope and sent it that way but you'd still be looking at a cost very close to that. Heck, I've paid about $10 to ship a 1 lb box to my house from them and they're 45 mins away. I dont know if they pocket any money from shipping items but generally shipping costs (materials & labor not included) are out of their control. Most shipping companies (FedEx, USPS, UPS...) have a 1 lb minimum so we the customer end up paying ~$10 dollars if our feather light item is shipped in a box. It sounds like your situation was just bad communication on both sides because they didnt tell you right there and then what shipping costs and maybe you didnt ask what shipping cost

I've personally never really had any problems with them over the past 10 years I've been a customer but know others who have. Theyre a good place to get parts when you're in a hurry (except if your name is Jaime ) because dealers never have stuff in stock for our old cars. It's unfortunate so many people have complaints about them because even though theyre not the best company in the world, I wouldnt want them to close their doors because we locals would be at the mercy of dealers or the FedEx/UPS guy. If they close, were would we get those kickass mints at Sevenstock every year?
