i do it because i enjoy the work, stand behind the work and i value my reputation and treat other people's cars as though they were my own. i would never allow someone to make a trip 2.5 hours+ to pick up a car that i wasn't sure would make it back to their house.
even a brand new stock motor is going to be hard pressed to see 80k miles if daily abused but i expect even the rebuilds i do with original or used hard parts to last at least 80% as long as an engine with all new parts, so long as the owner maintains the car that is.
bah, why do i bother.. no one's listening anyways.

He's probably just looking for a nice strong block to take lots of boost.

I dont post much but thought I could add something relevant
I have spent the past few weeks at Karack's shop working on my REPU project, I can attest first hand the detail and time he puts into each car. No knock on any other shop, but with Rotary Evolution you know Ben did all of the work on your car from start to finish to make sure it was done correctly. Dont question his prices or he might raise them on us

The rotary community is lucky to have a mechanic like Karack. I would put one of his rebuilds up against a motor from any other shop in the country bar none. The only difference is, 99% of us can actually afford a motor that he built.
Rynberg, I have seen several rebuilds that used the old irons and housings that ran just as long as a motor with new hard parts. These were N/A FCs, TII's, and FDs. As long as the parts spec out after cleaning then you're just throwing away your money. Just my .02

a moderate-large streetport is about all an n/a ECU can handle, they tend not to like anything that is much bigger than that.
