When you pry the oil pan off, carefull not to bend it, or else it will leak. If it bends, you can flip the pan on a hard flat surface[work bench] and hammer the sides flat. I like grey rtv alone, the gasket only works well if the oil pan is straight. If only mazda made "pry tabs"like nissan to make it easier.

I am glad you found out where the leak was from. I am going to go pick up a racing beat exhaust system today so I am going to try to kill two birds with one stone this weekend. I will install the exhaust and check for the leaks.

While the pan is off install a Moroso Oil Pan stud kit. Makes it worlds easier to put the pan back on and torque it right.

No Prob. And "The Right Stuff" silicone seals the oil pan incredibly well, most auto parts shops have it. Get the larger pressurized can with the dispenser. Goes on easy.

I just checked it out. I'm probably going to order one soon. Installation seems pretty simple.
