Help - How Much is my FD worth?

quick question guys. Im thinking about selling my FD but dont know what they go for around the bay area. quick list:

-1993 R1 Red

-less than 3K miles on a $10,000 rebuild from ricks rotary. all stock engine exept for 3mm seals

-Brand new $4000 body work/paint. Body kit/slick CF headlights

-fn01rc's all round/new tires

-SALVAGE TITLE for theft

what should this car go for considering the salvage title?

no its all stock. i got practically everything replaced under the hood. all hoses, radiator, water pump, new turbos, etc the whole shebang. i bought the car from a ricer who was pretty rough on it from what i can tell. so i told rick to replace anything that needed replacing. 2 months and 10k later i got the car back.

rick sure aint cheap.......

i doubt the rebuild was $10,000... i'm pretty sure he replaced or fixed other multiple things that added up to be $10,000... When i bought my FD, the previous owner paid a little over $10,000 from Rick, but that was because he did the rebuild, installed new ACT clutch, New radiator, vac hoses, and other misc stuff like replaced broken radiator supports and any other damaged crap... **** adds up man, but if you give Rick a call he estimates his rebuilds to be around $5k...

Your car sounds pretty clean, even though it's a salvaged title, i'm pretty sure it should hold it's value especially with the new things on it... Pictures would really help though...

To OP, yeah let me know what you sell it for bc I got a friggin salvage title too, but you're better off than me because yours is theft and mines is due to engine fire (not from me). I know its gonna be a bitch when i sell it in the future.

EDIT: If you are lucky and find a enthusiast who dosen't give a rats *** about the title, you will be LUCKY to get 16-17K, but thats tops.

ask for 15k and see if there is any bidder. I would keep it if i were you, you dont get the money you spend for it.

Yes I understand its about the title, but based on his description you're practically getting a brand new car, surely its worth more than 12k. Maybe I'm just being biased bc i have a salvage, its just sad that you spend 25k (not including car) and your FD can't even sell for more than 12k because of the title. I honestly think that people who offer such a low amount dosen't really give a **** about the title, they use it as a crutch to be able to lowball you and get an FD for cheap. If salvage is such a concern there would be no interest if one were selling, but if suddenly the price, let's say for the OP's car, was 8500 bucks, i guarantee you there would be alot of people want it. At that point salvage is of no concern.

Would you rather have a Fd with 158,000 on the OD, clean title, rebuilt motor with 45k OR a salvage title (in this case dude to theft), with brand new paint job, fresh motor, 80,000 on OD, both at the same price say $12,000. If you pick the clean title car you're so full of **** your eyes are brown.

I'd go with neither car. Whatever I save on the price for the Salvaged Title car, I'm going to pay back in Insurance costs.

There is always a better deal out there, just my opinion..

Hmm I actually don't pay that much for full coverage, maybe 1250 a year from state farm, 500 deductible. it is salvaged, but i dont know if they lied to me but i asked them if i totaled my car, how much will i get back? they said they'd check market value of different sources say autotrader, etc. and give me back the avg price which id assume at that time was like 12k.

Amen! let those who are afraid of salvage titles be afraid. If you have a clear history on why it is salvaged, (hence theft), then you only realize that you can't get an honest quote for the retail value of the car. I belive that there are FD enthusiast out there who reconize a good car when they see one, regardless of the title.

Also it depends on the buyer, if they hear the word salvage title and freak out trying to low ball you, then just pass on the accout of their ignorance. There will be a buyer out there who will see the car for what it is. PICS WOULD BE NICE

I think you will have a hard time getting over 12k for it. Salvaged title usually means half of blue book which would be around 7-8k. I have a clean title single turbo car with black interior, wheels, and a lot more. and couldnt get 14k for it.

I would keep it. Its worth more than you can sell it for. Thats the sad truth

Wow are you serious, you couldn't sell it? Man at this point the only possible solution is to keep it or sell it for cheap and take a big hit. I think I'd keep it.
