cant,
I have a new OEM Magnaflow that I use for smog. I never tried with the highflow.
No disrespect intended, but a lot of us have doubts concerning 2nd or 3rd party accounts of hearing about somebody their friend heard about passing a recent smog test using a highflow. And emissions standards in 2010 are tighter than they were in 2008 and beyond.
If you do go with a highflow, please do reply back on this thread if your car really does pass smog with that thing. I'm sure a lot of your fellow members would appreciate that information.
btw, make sure you have a perfectly functioning O2 sensor. If you're not sure, it's worth spending the $40 to buy a new one.
Good luck.

If we want to get technical, you actually won't pass a smog with the Bonez cat due to a newish CA law that says that all cats must be specifically made for your car. No more generics! That being said, you're exempt if you bought the cat and installed it before Jan 1, 2008 or something like that.
I passed last year with twin high flow stock diameter main cats and a full emissions system intact of course. The cats are on their way out so it was pretty close to failing but two years before that it passed just fine.

The Magnaflows that are sold at muffler shops are a legal replacement, not that the smog people would know the difference anyway. They just shine a flashlight under the car to make sure they're something resembling a catalytic converter under there.
I had an OEM Magnaflow (which is a legal replacement) welded in place of the stock cat at Golden Auto in Daly City. The manager Lisa runs the show - I mean it, she knows her **** and directs her workers. Their garage is so big, you can pretty much just show up unannounced and leave with a new cat in under an hour. Everybody's polite and they work fast, and the prices are fair, because they don't spend a lot of time working on your car. It was $200 total for the fresh Magnaflow and the labor. I passed with it in late 2009 with my old engine which had blown oil seals.
I've also had them weld an O2 sensor bung onto my downpipe, and my friend David (dvd) had pipes put in for his LS1 S13. btw, (and not to get off topic) when I drove that car, it felt like the tires were made of butter... just smooth, effortless mountains of torque. Anyway... back on topic.
I was in and out in 45 minutes. If you schedule an appointment, you'll be in and out in 30. Seriously, I can't say enough about this place.

In fact, I'll take a picture of it right now.

Edit: Here ya go. It's a thing of beauty. 40 lbs lighter than the stock cat, and it has less than 1000 miles on it.
I passed with mine two years ago, and I must go smog it again now. I'll post what my results are, I'm going to try and have it tested next week. My exhaust is basically stock except for an old RB catback.

Let me rephrase my statement then:
Even though it was back in the day my car passed smog with 0 CO, 0 HC. Neither the smog tech or me could figure out how the car was running so clean, but it was. And I didn't even lean it out. Boosted right out of the parking lot as I left. That was a mild streetported S4 turbo. 2.5" downpipe (smog tech let it slide), bonez 2.5" high flow, Greddy Catback, and a cone filter (again tech let it slide), and all emissions hooked up.
Just don't buy a catco cat...they last like 1000 miles.

Bonez Cat is good. i passed smog with flying colors. i believe i posted my results here back in 2008. Bonez cat, and a magnaflow exhaust. i put seafoam in my car and drove it for 30 mins then straight to smog shop.

Wait, two cats? Then I realized you have an FC. Good to know.
